Default LED PDLS swap

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has successfully fitted the new LED PDLS (not PDLS+) headlights in place of the old Xenon’s.

Tried searching but didn’t return any results. Apologies, suspect this has been asked before. I’ve seen the thread of the guy that retrofitted the old PDLS+ system, that’s not what I’m looking for.

Thanks,

Nick

Anything is possible but not worth the crazy cost. It’s been covered on here a couple times.

In defense of the OP, while it has been discussed here a few times - I don't think the question has been definitively answered, by anyone who has actually done it. What are the exact part numbers needed, what is the cost, and is there any coding needed? Not PDLS+ with the Camera system, just the regular PDLS to get that 4-Point Running Light look and LEDs.

I have searched myself, and found nothing.

I just bought a 2021 Spyder with the standard Headlights, and I would also like to know if I can upgrade to PDLS, and how much it would cost. I haven't gotten around to checking with the dealer yet.

I have to believe there are a decent amount of people curious about this, as there was a time window last year into this year where PDLS+ was not available and the new non-plus PDLS was not available, and all ordered cars were base headlights only.

I wish an aftermarket company would make PDLS style lights that would be a plug and play for the look without the swivel function of the actual PDLS light because you’d need to splice into the wiring harness to add those sensors and other connectors. If I remember correctly someone has done the conversion but it was very labor intensive with the re-wiring of the harness. I want to say it was someone on Planet 9 forums.

These look interesting, $3500 USD doesn’t seem too paid either.

They haven’t shipped anything yet. Unclear if coding is required.

There are also a few vendors on ebay offering this… they claim Plug and Play and accept returns ( from China)
Here is one for the GT4 RS.. but there are options for other models too.

Shame TWL raised the initial price and also puts that ugly logo in the headlights. I feel like more people might order it if it didn't have that. A buddy put some knockoffs from ebay on his 4RS and is reasonably satisfied. Goes by @skafia on this forum. I haven't seen them in person yet.

Also the thread you were referring to, doesn't it apply to PDLS almost as much as the old PDLS+?

Just wanted to give an update - got these installed yesterday - quite the process! Overall very happy with the lights, need to get them adjusted but overall for the price they are a great value.
