Is there any car out there that makes our cars feel like they suck?

We could revive a color preference thread. PCCB thread? Evils of EV? Burmester worth it? There was a quite legitimate LWBS mini-rant recently. OH…I know! Revisit my delivery woes! (Putting on asbestos underwear)
Just hanging out, waiting for SRS news and good pics to get posted.

Koenigsegg comes to mind . CC850 is both an automatic and a manual. Regera is a technical masterpiece. Jesko makes Porsche's seem like a kids toy.
For the price; no, not really. An argument could be made that you get way more car for the money if you get a Z06 instead of a GT4/Spyder. But then you get a bigger, heavier car with an awkward looking rear and no manual.

I could see having a Ferrari 458 or maybe even a Roma in the garage along side the Spyder. I wouldn’t replace it with one though. I don’t think there are any cars that will make these Porsches feel like they suck. Good is good.

depends on the day. i love my 718 and my 987.2 track car and my '81 targa but some days none can hold a candle to my FFR cobra with a tuned coyote in it nothing quite like the feeling of ~500hp in a ~2200lb shell and chirping all the gears

Depends. Out of the box, meh. Tastefully modified?... then GT4/Spyders are better... But price no object up to say $350,000 these cars are not even in the top 20. However, at the MSRP they are likely in the top 5. I love my 718 GT4 especially in its modified form but I am realistic about what it is and its baked in limitations. Its a really fun, reliable, decent looking street/canyon racer. I did have a Valet Parker say he would take my car over an F8 thought so there is that...
I would say though that at this price point and after the tasteful mods, it it probably more like in the top 3. If I had to replace my modded GT4 now,, the only things (at this price point) that would interest me are the C8 Z06 (vaporware) and Lotus Emira (compares more to the GTS than GT4 though).
If we up the price to $300K - $350K, then anything from McLaren would be my go to first as I like their light weight formula and they are also at or near the top on track and have the better driving dynamics. A GT3 NA motor in a McLaren would be heaven.

Funny to find this thread. I'm currently looking at getting a GT4 while owning some of the cars mentioned in this thread. Below have been my experiences with cars that have been mentioned.
In the order of ownership
A dream car would be something that's mid-engine, has the look of a mclaren, 400+HP, reliable like a porsche GT car, and $150k or under. GT4 seems to be the closest match...
In the order of ownership
- 2007 997 GT3 - First real sports car I bought. Mine was already highly modified (built by GMG) and I would say this one of my favorites. Handled like it was on rails. Perfect size, 6speed, superb.
- 2017 R8 V10 Plus - Bought brand new. Nardo grey. Amazing sound, incredible interior. The car felt HUGE coming from the 997. The tech and look of the interior was probably the best out of the cars listed here. I felt tiny sitting inside as the interior is massive despite the car not being that large. There was so much headroom and width when inside. Driving wise, it was fast, but definitely felt heavy and I didn't like the view out of the front as the front fenders were too high up in my line of sight. Also the paddle shifters are a joke. They felt and sound exactly like a cheap $5 computer mouse. I traded this only after 600miles of ownership.
- McLaren 570s - By far the best driving experience I've had to date. Blazing speed, great handling, great steering & feel, great views (mid engine cabin forward design = the road rushing at you), decent brakes (hard as hell to press the brake pedal for some reason). The car's handling gave me a LOT of confidence, similar to my 997 GT3 with all of it's suspension mods. The car was also metallic orange which made it a complete head turner. Got the most attention of any car I've owned. I would've kept this car forever if it weren't for the constant problems it had. Most were electrical issues.
- 2019 991.2 GT3RS - Probably the 2nd best car I've owned from a driving perspective and best car from an ownership experience. Everyone probably already knows what this car is like so no need to explain. 2 things I didn't like about it was the size (I much prefer the size of the 997 GT3) and the rear wheel steer which I didn't like when it came on.

With two kids in college I'm going the other direction. At half the price point, there are cars out there that will make you question why you're spending so much. I just drove the brand new Integra Type S, and I don't think I'll miss my 718 as much as I thought I was going to.
But I agree with sentiments above. When you're behind the wheel it's tough to think it gets much better... and I know I'll have another one someday. In about 4 years.

I drove it a few months ago. They claim mine will arrive in October, we shall see. Was impressed with the car. With some mods it'll be super fun. No replacement for GT4/Spyder though.
