My 718 GT4 Journey - Mods
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop by and say hello to my fellow 718 owners. This is my 718 GT4 in Carrera metallic white and what I've done so far:
-RSNV Wing Risers (absolutely in love with how the rear looks now, raises the spoiler about 3")
-Cargraphic valve controller (believe it or not just having the valves open all the time gives the car much more volume - about 25-30% and sounds great)
Next up:
Flat6 Over Axle Pipes - This will delete the GPF and really open up the exhaust note!
What mods have you guys done? Cheers!

Thank you for doing this!!
Most of us have the basic five (camber plates, rear toe links, DSC, springs, track alignment) you have really done what many of us have dreamed about....
- do you have any data on any of the mods that might be useful to others, particularly the DBJ wing, M tuning, etc??
- after adding up the cost of the list, have you ever thought "maybe I should have just got a GT3", a la JC Viggen's 5 sec a lap improvement with an aligned only GT3 over his modded GT4??
- not dissing what you have done, but just wondering??
Cheers!!

1. Paint Protection Film - full front, doors and mirrors, rockers, and rear bumper behind wheel wells.
2. Covercraft car cover
3. Replace wheel lock lug bolts with regular lug bolts
4. CMS roll bar
5. Track alignment of stock supsension
6. Extra set of factory wheels in Aurum with Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 for year round driving after track season
7. 996 Euro GT3 bucket seats with Schroth 6 pt harnesses and Rennline fire extinguisher mount for track season
I think that's it so far. Next up may be RSS rear toe links with the offset ends and then Flat Six OAPs.

1. Clear side markers
2. GT4RS PDK Shift ****
I’m a simple man. Might dive into performance mods once my warranty is up

Surely the most complete list of any owner!!

My car is 99% track only, so reliability, setup, safety have been the focus.
some notes:
- I stopped using the DBJ wing after seeing traction and under steer in my track data. I wasn’t really going much faster. I just got the RS front end aero and I’m hoping it balances the DBJ wing out.
- the aero is fun but don’t doubt you’ll loose some Vmax due to drag.
- I really like the car with stiffer springs and DSC sport controller. Nice upgrade.
- I chose a GT4 because I prefer Caymans to 911 (I’ve owned a 981 Cayman S and a 991.1 Carrera S previously). The GT3 is great, but I love the balance point and feel of the mid engine cars. And the slower engine vs GT3 has been really helpful as I focused on my driving vs having a car so capable that it could hide my bad habits.
happy to comment on any questions on specific mods !
I have to say you could do less to these cars and have one that was incredible. I’ve just kept going !

My next track day is July 31 at Laguna Seca, so I’ll let you know then!
But it’s been years since I went to LS…. I think a Thunderhill day though is what I need to really explore the differences, and I don’t yet have one scheduled ahead of November.

Cheers!
