Driving Gloves
For those who have an alcantara steering wheel...do you use driving gloves? If so, which ones? (I'm really kicking myself for not opting for the free carbon fiber steering wheel option.)
Honestly, I don't really like the idea of driving gloves, but my hands sweat a lot and my steering wheel gets all flat and slippery. I've tried to just keep brushing it after some longer drives, but it's not good enough and I heard that it's not the greatest to clean with solutions (I have Sonax) too often.
I do most of my driving in warmer weather, so something that isn't too hot would be ideal.

I have these, which I use in hotter weather or longer drives. I don't like wearing gloves either, but it does save the RaceTex from getting overly soiled...
I bought mine gloves off Amazon (below). Half finger allows use on touchscreens, and the black with white stitching, "almost" matches my interior.

My alcantara looks like new after 4500 miles. Mind you, I don't eat cheeseburgers while I drive. I eat cheese burgers and then meticulously wash and drymy hands.
For gloves, I do have a couple of different pairs. For summer, if I occassionly want to, I have nice pair from Cafe Leather. But I find these feel slippery against the alcantara and I don't often use them.

For winter a nice pair of insulated leather.
Good luck!

I forgot that I actually have a pair of these for gaming...can I just use these or would the material be bad for the wheel or something?

I have a pair similar to Fast-Eddie, but I find myself not wearing them very often, as I would my winter set. Honestly any glove set you feel comfortable wearing will work, but keep in mind of the time of year.. its summer, so you will most likely prefer half finger, and ventilated gloves this time of year.
I always have a small pack of sanitizing hand wipes that I keep in one of the small cubbies behind the two seats, to keep my hands clean if Im in a situation where I dont have access to wash them properly. I also have a small bottle of Koch Chemie Polstar, diluted 1:20 that I keep in the car for quick touchups, and I always hit the wheel at least one a week to remove any oils.
Pro tip: clean the wheel once a week, or as you see fit regardless with a light cleaner like I mentioned above (or similar) as you can easily transfer oils from the wheel to the gloves, which will be the opposite effect that you’re looking for. I also use POL to lightly clean my driving gloves. It keeps them feeling fresh, and I find it helps them from getting that dry feeling - sort of like how a golf glove gets after a round.. sort of dry, and slippery; I spit on them to work them back to life before a round, but you want find me hacking up loogies and spitting on my gloves/steering wheel any time soon

I don't particularly like wearing gloves when driving but I think its mandatory for suede steering wheels. I got a pair of these and really like them. I've tried lots of different types but nothing else comes close.

I have a pair of FIA gloves for motorsport events that mandate them, but they are way too hot to wear in summer. These Outlierman ones are very cool even on hot days.

Had driving gloves before, but rarely used them. Too much trouble. Felt pretentious. But, with the Race-tex wheel, they are needed.
Get yourself a pair of Dents. Bond wore them.

How filthy/sweaty are you guys?
I just use Sonax alcantara cleaner on the wheel every few washes and it still looks like new. I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror if I was driving on the street with driving gloves on, but maybe that's a personal issue.
