I gave a before and after behind the wheel but it is not controlled for many variables. I cannot say that my hard pull on the oem setup was the same pull as with the BC Fabs exhaust. I did not keep track of the distance travelled or time or average speed before measuring temps so as I said before my data is crude at best. Unfortunately this was performed as an after thought and I should add very little thought at that. Lol. I posted it here because I was just looking for some various temp data points to see if there was anything worthwhile to dig into in more depth and hoping someone put in more thought than I did and had some better data. Looking for possible trend to form a hypothesis and then prove or disprove it. Even the video above was less than ideal at best but clearly better controlled than my data.

Immediate temperature of oem oap behind wheel was 287 degrees, after 2 mins of shutdown 261 degrees and 5 mins 137 degrees on a day that temp was 76 degrees and 72% humidity with oil temp of 219 degrees.

Immediate temp of BC Fab heatshielded oap behind wheel was 174 degrees, after 2 mins of engine shutdown the temp was 153 degrees and at 5 mins it was 117 degrees on a day the temp was 73 degrees with 65% humidity with oil temp of 221 degrees.

My thoughts are that BC Fabs heatshielded oap radiates less heat than oem heatshielded oap with the opf under somewhat similiar conditions but cannot be taken as fact with a n of 1 on oem and BC Fab oap and no controll of variables. Take it with a grain of salt. Enjoy your Porsches.

I have the stainless steel version in my Boxster 25. It does not have a high-pitched tone. At low rpms, it is bass heavy and loud. Above 3k rpms, it sounds like my old 981S.

JCR has the cleanest, tightest and most high pitched sound, period. However it doesnt mitigate drone and and might be too sharp. It is very v ery good. The Kline is #2 overall in high pitched sound but #1 when considered overall. I have the Kline full exhaust with 200cell cats in inconel and it makes me smile each time I get in the car!

Post my stock set up i changed the valved section to SCHMIDT MOTORSPORTS valve unit. This was coupled with the DUNDON Header and OAP. I wanted to upgrade the sound and i went ahead and bought a DUNDON Crack Pipe. Installed it and drove around for 500 miles. It was a nightmare to drive in the city. It was orgasmic on the freeway. Then i decided to tone it down and decided to buy the BC Fabs inconel valved exhaust. Initially it was as loud as the full DUNDON setup i had earlier. I had it removed. Then after a gap of 3 months i had the the BC Fabs valved unit reinstalled and did two freeway runs of 125 miles each. The sound was completely transformed. Guess the heat cycling of the material did the sound control. The sound of the BC Fabs inconel valved exhaust with the DUNDON headers and the OAP's is high pitched and the crescendo builds up progressively from 5k rpm onwards. To my hearing it is about 25% less louder than the DUNDON Crack pipes. The drone is about 25% more than the stock set up between 2.2k rpm to 3k rpm. Very bearable. I have just now bought (from a RLister) the BC Fabs headers and under axle pipe. Just got it installed. The drone remains the same. I will do a 250 mile run with the new set up and experience the high rpm sound.

I have a pretty low threshold for loud sounds whether it is an exhaust or music. Despite that, I still think that my BC Fabs muffler sounds great above 3k rpms. I can’t tolerate that resonance in the 2-3k rpm range. It is a personal limitation. If that resonance could have been addressed without turning up the volume further, I would have stuck with it because I really do like the tone.

The Symposer delete helps along with some sound deadening material pout over the engine cover. But i have the Kline full system and there isnt any drone because of that choice.
