Won't know until you try but SoCal is the "hottest" market for a Spyder RS outside of FL so the dealer could decide to keep it and try to flip it. Lowest I've heard is 45k over but that was for a build later in the year.

Is this something you specified, ordered, put money down on and the build sheet has closed? If so I would say you are locked in.

Yes, its my build and is already in production. I guess because its a relatively early delivery I will have to bite it, but I dont think the next round though will demand as high of an ADM. While negotiating, I did get him to agree to give some of that back with deal on PPF, but didnt get that in writing. Ill let you know how it goes. Either way, Im keeping this one for a while so I dont mind as much

Yeah, the cost of being early could be worth it. We have no idea what will happen with production rates. I believe European sales stop in September. Does this mean North American production numbers increase and if so for how long? Or do they just stop and switch over the factory? What's this going to do to prices?
The stress of waiting to see if an allocation comes through can be brutal.

Lots of unknowns, so best to get an allocation as early as possible.

Osnabrucke a VAG overflow facility, so little unclear on what VAG’s needs are re: that production capability. 983 718 EV will be produced at Stuttgart, PAG says some overlap to sell both platforms.

Which models? Who knows. I did read that the GT3 motor production is contracted till sometime in 2025, so that may be the 718 RS sunset event.

718s will sunset in the EU and other nations this July. However, there seem to be some loopholes for some RS deliveries continuing in lower numbers for those markets.

The dealers I was talking to last fall all indicated PCNA gave them remaining CY 24 numbers. Seemed to be less than what was dropped in Oct.

Post over in the 992 side are convinced that MY25 will have an 8% price increase.

Don’t seeing it becoming much easier. Start calling now and befriend the brokers if you want one.

Thanks @BillBoss for leading me to this car! We both shop at the same dealer and I managed to come to a very fair deal for it over the weekend. Pre-traded my 2021 Spyder today, and the SRS should be here by the beginning of May. I was initially turned off by the sofas, but my better half hates the LWBS in my former GT4 and current GT3, so this will be more enjoyable for the both of us. Plus the seat heating will help us extend the driving season here in Chicago a little longer. Probably would not have picked the magnesium wheels, but will most likely just get a second set of wheels with PS4S tires installed. Other than that, I was thinking either Arctic or Vanadium grey with red accents, so this worked out pretty well. Was hoping to get an allocation later this year, or the next, but a May-delivery is somewhat of a surprise. With the anticipated annual price increases from Porsche, the car will probably cost the same as a MY25 without the magnesium wheels. Now the waiting begins.

Congrats - nice spec! Mine is quite similar thus far with an August delivery. I see you have the dashcam prep and was thinking about adding that. Do you (or anyone else) know what that option looks like? And could it be used for a wired radar detector? Thanks!

Thanks! To be honest, I have no idea about the dashcam prep. This was a pre-configured car from the dealer that somehow became available, so I had no choice and most likely would not have picked this option. From what I have seen, there is still quite a bit of labor involved in getting the Porsche dashcam installed, so I suspect it would be similar if you want to use it as a power source for a radar detector. Hope everything goes well with the car!

So glad you got it and even better that you are local! Hopefully I get to see it one day!

When is actually the switch over to MY25?
If I am getting mine with end of prod scheduled for Aug 2024 and then German delivery, should still be MY24, right?

My local dealer has an available Spyder RS allocation. They are asking $50k ADM plus a watch. Anyone who is local to the Chicagoland area, PM me if you are interested and I can put you in contact.

Any additional context, e.g. have you purchased 10 base Cayennes from your dealer?

I'm about to pay $50k ADM for my SRS from a dealer where I currently have a Taycan leased. No other obligations (no watch, no lease, no financing, etc).
