Spyder RS "roof" major concerns

That's going to make washing this car a pain then, I was hoping it'll make it water tight 100%.

Honestly back in the day when the GTS 4.0 was released I debated letting go of my Spyder build and swapping it for a BGTS4.0 just because of the roof. I close my roof whenever I leave the car to eat, buy coffee, groceries, etc. Too many crazy homeless people out here in LA. Don't want a homeless dude taking a dump or projectile vomiting into my car While realistically our cars (GT4 & Spyder) are around the same price of a base 911, they do look special and are way more attention grabbing in both good and bad ways. Now that I see the SRS roof, I'm grateful for our standard Spyder roofs. Makes it look like a piece of cake lol!
never liked 718 Spyder roof but now I prefer it over SRS roof by comparison for these exact reasons.

I don’t see how Porsche would design the Spyder RS top as not fully rainproof.
Once the videos are available I think we will see that the second piece of the top makes the car 100% rainproof.
Learning from the technology used to make the top in the 981/982 Spyder 100% sealed, Porsche likely did — and there’s no doubt in my mind that they did — make the Spyder RS 100% rainproof. This isn’t 2010 and it’s not 1985. And this car has a base price of $165k.

I also do have questions about the roof as someone who will never be able to afford this car. it does seem a very interesting choice. I'm really curious on the real world experience.
That being said i freaking love how the front lip looks and i wonder if i can add it to my GT4 and if it would ruin it....it might.

With that being said if you put pressure sideways on the glass you could force some penetration. Probably not going to be driving your Spyder if rain is coming at you sideways at 70 mph anyway.

This is a great example of the internet giving people a channel for whining.

The issue I have with mine is that unless I reach up and grasped one of the two holds behind the front edge of the top, and pull down some to close the gap, the lever will not acitvate. So one has to be able to be in the cabin, reach up and pull down with your left hand, then with the gap closed, lift up on the centre consol button with your right hand.
.
.
But I keep the top up a lot, not sure if that makes any difference.

In the rare instance I put up the top, I also have to get in and pull the roof hard forward to get the hook to bite. Not a big deal.

In my 2016 Spyder, before the roof closes I too need to take my right hand and help it make contact with the windshield surround with moderate pressure while pressing the button to close the roof so that the latch will catch. If I don’t, it tries, misses, and could cause damage. I noticed this shortly after taking delivery of the car.

As flimsy as the top looked on the 987.2 Spyder it was pretty effective at keeping the elements out. While I knew I couldn’t take it through a car wash without getting soaked I never had any issues during heavy rain storms. If the Spyder RS top is engineered the same way I’m sure it’ll be just fine. And I kinda miss that old Spyder. Dealing with top made it more of a hands-on, engaging experience. It was a special car.

I am 1st on line in a small dealership. They may get 1-3 718 Spyder RS. They will sell above MSRP but has not told me yet what the number will be.
I will only take if reasonable offer. I bought my 991.2 GT3 Touring at MSRP. I know time has changed, every body is paying above MSRP.
Ordered 2023 ZO6 20K above MSRP. Need advice from people, what is reasonable price above MSRP. Thanks in advance.
