How close do you all think this color will be from Yachting Blue PTS in person? YB is my spec color but I'm really having second thoughts about paying $11k more for more or less the same shade. In many pictures Vanadium looks much closer to gunmetal, but in some there is so much blue to it.
Yachting I think is definitely more blue and a tad lighter, but is it distinct enough?
From my eyes, I think they're way different. When I see Vanadium, I definitely see it as a grey even though it does have some blue to it. When I see YB, I definitely see it as a blue and don't see much grey, if any. In other words, my eyes would never get them confused with each other.
Looks like Vanadium Grey Metallic is no longer exclusive to the Spyder RS. It is now available on the 992.2 911. They also added a few and deleted others...

Gotta say I'm a bit disappointed it's no longer exclusive for the SRS

My 991 is Yachting Blue Metallic - it's a very complex color, and absolutely gorgeous in person. I have to admit that when the first videos/photos of the Spyder RS hit the Porsche marketing website, I thought I was looking at Yachting Blue. Over time, as more examples have surfaced, it's clear Vanadium Gray is different. The photo Kelvin posted is fantastic. It's the first time I've seen both colors "in the same room". In person, Yachting Blue is medium blue in daylight, trending to a deeper or brighter blue depending on how the light or shade is hitting it. In some artificial or low light, the color can look like a dark gray blue. Vanadium seems like a similarly complex color but a lighter hue to begin with, which trends from light to medium gray to light to medium blue depending on the sky reflections and lighting conditions.
My 991 is a forever keeper, but I'm awaiting a Boxster GTS allocation to complement it. Assuming I can eventually get one and my preferred color choice of Aventurine Green is discontinued, I hope Vanadium Gray is a replacement among the available (non-PTS) color options. I think I'd be equally happy with Vanadium Gray for my build after seeing Kelvin's comparison photo.

Yachting Blue Metallic is one of my favorite Porsche colors.
I wonder what Vanadium Grey Metallic looks next to Audi's Daytona Grey Metallic.
Well, it seems like my wish has been granted. Porsche just updated the US configurator and Vanadium Gray is now available as a $650 paint option on the Boxster GTS 4.0 for MY2025. Interestingly, Aventurine Green is also still available, which wasn't something I was expecting. I think it looks spectacular:

I just ordered a ‘25 CGTS in Vanadium Grey Metallic. Vana will hopefully be here by the end of the year. She’ll be replacing Bluebelle, a ‘23 CGTS 6MT in Shark Blue. The Shark Blue with gloss black isn’t really “me.” Other than that, I love driving the CGTS 4.0 up in the Blue Ridge. I’lll post some pics after Vana arrives.

Nice build. Did you have Burmester in the ‘23 CGTS?
Thanks! That car has the Bose. It just doesn’t have enough oomph given how loud the car can be. I have the Burm in a Carrera S Cab and Macan GTS and love it.
As an aside, I keep wishing the ‘23 had the rear wiper…

Thanks for the info.
My build is pretty much complete. My last two decisions are Burm vs Bose and whether or not I want leather on the inner door sills.
I do! Just ready for freeze date to come and go so I don’t have to think anymore about it. LOL My current Build
Awesome build! Glad to see the 6MT! And I love Aventurine. That would be in my top three color choices. Interesting phenomenon I’ve noted on the LEDs in the 992S vs. the Xenons in the 718: the LEDs seem to attract significantly more bugs during my early morning drives. Thus, I’ve stuck with the Xenons for my ‘25 718. They are still an upgrade from the base 718 Xenons and really quite good.
