For the amount these cost, get a set of custom built forged wheels from any number of companies in the exact dimensions, offset and finish you want. I just got a set of BC Forged wheels for my Audi RS5. 20x10 were 21lbs. Finish is gorgeous and I got them in 5 weeks. HRE, Vossen, Vorsteiner, Lightspeed Racing are just a few of the other brands available.

Very true but really hard to compare BC forged to BBS FI-R........sorry not in same league.... we sell both however the customer wanting FI-R is typically not the same customer looking for BC Forged

Okay...HRE. Although I would want to know objectively what makes one wheel superior to another....serious question. BC Forged are also only $1000 per wheel, which is enough for a daily driver at the $100k price point in my book. My top choice for the GT4/Spyder would actually be the HRE R101 lightweight. Again, because it can be had in exact mm offset fitments and a variety of finishes.

R101LW MSRP is 13k now so alot more than the FI-R, although I have a friend about to sell his set of R101LW's in GT4 fitment soon which he'll ask much less than the new price.

Fair point. I was really alluding to the idea that if there is such a wait for the BBS, then there are other options that actually have some desirable advantages over the BBS

There are really so many aspects to take into consideration as to what makes a wheel better than another. Technology, materials, engineering, heat processes, finishing, rigorous testing.

BBS is the OE supplier to Porsche, Manthey Racing and is used in top level motorsports for many decades...there is a reason why its consistently BBS and none of the others mentioned.

As much as we love the BBS brand .... you can not only look at the pros as there are also the cons and one must weigh in as well. Delivery is brutal. No custom finishes unless we do them ourselves. No custom offsets. These are all super important especially at the prices they are demanding.

If you want to discuss anything feel free to reach out! We sell them all and can get you info and RL pricing too. Feel free to call 714-632-1951 or email sales@supremepower.com ... would be happy to discuss and assist.

Due to the lack of delivery from BBS we even made our own brand. Our http://www.supremeforged.com SP10 ... first set was for a GT4 even. Custom offsets. Custom finishes. Accepts Porsche caps and Porsche hardware. Nice price too. Made in USA.

You are hitting on many of my exact points. I have owned several sets of BBS wheels, though nothing forged. But their forged wheels use 6000 grade aluminum and are pressed at 9000 tons pressure. The "cheap" BC Forged wheels are also made from 6000 grade aluminum and pressed at 10,000 tons pressure. BBS has history and heritage, but is the construction objectively and scientifically better just because BC has a bigger production operation and is in Taiwan? I just tend to question these types of things. I do like the design of the SPP forged wheels though !!

There are folks way into watches that would absolutely wear a Grand Seiko.

I have a pretty heavy watch collection and I love a GS.

My general mind set is 1% of the cost of the car per wheel is where I set my goals for.

If I sold the car I'd want to keep one to hang on the wall

With BBS you are really buying the brand cachet. They have gone bankrupt multiple times, I don't think they are pushing the envelope on manufacture/options/designs. Nice wheels though.
