Default GT4RS Weissach package with no rollcage + Clubsport package

My sales advisor told me that if I selected the Weissach package with no roll cage and add the Clubsport package, the car will NOT come with the steel rollcage. However, the configurator renders the steel rollcage with this combination of options selected. Is the advisor right or the configurator?

Thanks

What country? Because US need not apply regardless of what options you choose, you ain't getting no rollcage of any material from Zuffenhausen.

I am from Asia Pacific region. Does the Configurator render the rollcage for US customers if you select the Clubsport package?

The rollcage is not available for US customers at all.

In Australia the Clubsport package definitely comes with the steel rollcage. I think your sales advisor needs to explain what he means because it doesn't make sense in my market. Heaps of Weissach cars with steel roll cages here.

Hello.

Could you please clarify exactly what configuration you want, then we can probably be more helpful how to achieve that. Never mind your SA.

Congratulations on an allocation!

For non-USA cars, if you spec WP with a cage it comes as the non-compliant (by FIA) Ti cage. If you spec WP without the cage and you then spec the Clubsport package you get the FIA spec steel cage to which you can add a bolt-in front section if you ever want to tarmac-rally the car or heaven forbid, race it. You also get to spec the colour of the steel cage; I went with deep sea blue to match the blue WP cabin theme I specced.
Your SA is giving you the wrong info.

Steel roll cage comes with the Club Sport package + driver 6 point harness - outside US/Canada. for those who spec'ed a roll cage, does it add any rigidity or is it only for the cool effect + free of charge, or is it needed for the harness?

The point being 'clubsport' package means it gives you all the main FIA compliance checks to compete in clubsport level races and competitions from factory.
Unlike the GT3, the harness is anchored to the chassis. Rigidity or not, simply put its a club level racing compliance package.

What gives it the authentic cool effect, 'this is a compliant race car, which has license plates'

Not to derail the thread but I've often wondered why US does not get the roll cage. Any info here?

thanks I agree with you. My only concern i won’t be able to import the car with Club sport back to Canada from Europe, I hope there is a way to remove it for inspection and screw it back. I need to search this more.

I believe its due to federal (DoT) (safety) regulations AFIAK ... its always been the case ever since 'clubsport' has been offered all the way back to 996.2

BS excuse when the rest of the world is fine with the rollbar, including the EU.

agree - you can carry a loaded gun it a car but not a rollcage ...

time for a constitutional amendment :"the right to bear rollcages" ... if only the drafters had also tracked...

Supposedly it's Porsche's choice not a law as evidenced but BMW selling an approved cage here in the US. I think it was in the M4 GTS maybe? There have been other tube frame cars that are similar and the Lotus Elise had one under the body cladding etc...
