GT4RS Dilemma
#16
After seeing one on the road, I can’t imagine owning one without a FAL. I’d pass.
#18
FAL is handy for some situation but on a car like the 4RS it might be wise to take a compromise on this department given he is 9th on the list and we are probably a year away from end of production.
IMO I would take this one and if he gets lucky with a configurable allocation...sell or trade for the new one.
The only thing I don't like is that ADM.....

Ok so I want to open this up to the rennlist brain trust. I am pretty sure what I’m going to do but I like hearing your opinions.
So I got pinged yesterday with a GT4RS build in the pipe delivering likely this summer. Production finished - no chance to change options. Guy backed out / economy (usual story)
The major blocker is that it doesn’t have front axle lift. Also minor but solveable is the fact that it has satin neodyme wheels. (not my thing)
ADM - 40k (10k less than I was previously quoted).
However - I’m still on the list for an allocation. Currently 9th - but no confirmation of a slot. This is the preferred path.
Im leaning to the “bird in the hand” side of things right now. What do you guys think?
Who knows though - as I type this it may have been claimed making this post moot. But I’m still interested in a healthy discussion.
Also fwiw - I have a 991.2 gt3 I enjoy so it’s not like I will need to go without a fun ride.

I have owned 6 GT cars, none with lift and never an issue. Just pay attention and go slow if you see potential issue. Front lip is cheap plastic for a reason. It is designed to scrape a little and flex.

More options on this car: WP, arctic Grey, gold wheels, yellow pccb, buckets.
I do love the lift on my gt3 I use it all the time - but the gt4s I had obviously didn’t have it and were fine.
It’s a pretty good build. Has some expensive extra stitching (arctic grey) but that’s not a plus / minus to me.
I plan to check today. At this point it’s likely sold but if not I’m going to see if they want to negotiate on the adm.
Because I know I’m low on the list I must assume they offered the car to 8 other people

Good luck. The GTS that I was able to buy is Arctic Grey too. I was a little unsure of the color based on internet pictures. Seeing it in person tho, it's a great color. Pictures seem to bring out more blue than it looks in person.
I was able to buy at msrp so it was an easier decision for me to take it. Hopefully you can negotiate a lower ADM.

What did you find out? I used to hyperfocus on ADM's and whether I got a "great deal", but at this point- time is more valuable than $ and frankly over the years, I've never thought much about the ADM / initial cost once the car was in the driveway. My only regrets are having sold some of them (E36 M3, E39 M5, B7 RS4). If the 4RS is in your "use" and financial wheelhouse- go for it. It would seem unlikely that your # (ie 9) will come up at your dealership for the forseeable future

So I caved in. Haha. No production photos as far as I can tell. I’ll be scraping the front lip at the end of next month hahaha!

Colors while not my first choice - don’t matter as much. I love the grey and may buy indigo wheels if I feel like it. I might end up not caring. Behind the wheel Im not looking at the wheels anyway.

This has been my experience with the calls / emails. Especially in CA
Also - I know a ton of people will get a better deal than I did. They always do. I’ll just enjoy the car. If I’m in love with the GT4RS maybe I’ll swap to another one later with lift if needed.
But bird in the hand blah blah.
