Signal Yellow Spyder
Hi,
Super excited about getting back into a PTS Spyder after a 2-year hiatus!
Back in January 2021 I did a PECLA delivery on a Miami Blue Spyder, at the time my perfect spec color and options. During the winter of 2021 I stored the car at my good friend @Cherryblock house in the California desert. We share a deep passion for Porsche and had many great drives and fun with my the new Spyder and @Cherryblock ever evolving collection.
One Sunday afternoon while back in Colorado I was surfing this board and noted a post about a PTS Signal Yellow Spyder for sale at Porsche Napleton, Westmont IL. I immediately linked the post and information in an email to @Cherryblock Larry at the time was on a hike out in the desert with his family, he read the email, had a previous relationship with the GM at Porsche dealer, called the dealer and closed the deal, bought the PTS Signal Yellow Spyder, while out on the family hike.
A few weeks later I flew back into the desert, Larry picked me up in his new Signal Yellow Spyder...what a car!
Another great weekend of Porsche, Spyder drives, and fun was had.
I thought at the time the Spyder would be a forever car.
However, I had early 911 fever and started looking for a 70-73 911E coupe. While out in the desert, Larry & I even flew to Houston Texas for a one-day turn around trip to look at a Gemini blue 73 911E for sale. That car was a no go.
2 days after the Houston trip another good Porsche friend alerted me to a Viper Green 911E that might be for sale in Studio City, Ca.
I drove the Spyder into LA on a rainy day with Cup tires to take a closer look at a Viper Green 911E. Long story short, the Viper Green car was amazing. Over the next few months, the 911E seller (car wasn't really for sale) and I went back and forth on price, finally coming to agreement May 2021.
So, here I am, about 6 months into my Miami Blue Spyder ownership, you know, the "Forever Car" with a serious dilemma. With the acquisition of the early 911, something had to give...I made the painful decision to sell my MB Spyder.
November 2021, Larry packages the Signal Yellow Spyder away in a trade for a very special reimagined Porsche.
End of story, both the Miami Blue & Signal Yellow Spyder's...gone.
February 2022, I'm in discussions with the current owner of my former Miami Blue Spyder. Car is coming up for sale and I have a great opportunity to buy the car back.
In the middle of negotiation discussions, I find the PTS Signal Yellow Spyder for sale at Porsche Oklahoma City 2500 miles, CPO, still in the wrapper and mistakenly advertised on their website as Racing Yellow.
Long story short the MB Spyder was not meant to be, I'm the happy new owner of this very special Signal Yellow Spyder!
Car arrived at my storage hangar in the California desert Friday evening. I'll be reunited with the car in a few weeks, until then a few photos from the winter of 2021 and this week.

Beautiful color. If I learned anything from that story it's the fact that I have extreme hangar envy.

@ltctoneo - did you take part in the SD PCA drive on Sunday? ~Mango plate?
If so, we chatted in the Dudley's bakery lot at the end of the drive.
If not, there must be 2 Spyders in this color in the SD area
Very nice color in person

Thank you! I just finished cleaning it, the rain overnight made her super dirty.
