GT4 to GT3
Hi guys..
Anyone here moved from GT4 to a 3..? I've had a mk1 GT3 in a past life and now have the GT4 in 718 form with 3 pedals and its just fabulous.
Not sure what it's bigger brother would offer as far as a driving experience is concerned and clearly its way way more $$ so not on the plan just currently but have to say it is a dream end goal.. I think I would look towards a 991.2. My only experience with them is via the Tube but wow what a car!!
My current drive is totally standard.
Maybe it just needs to be making more noise ....Maybe it's just the allure of the GT3 that evokes the lust to own it.

I’d say it boils down to personal preference. The “better” car depends on definition of “better”.
Personally I prefer mid engine and the smaller and more nimble feel of the GT4. I have owned three 911 (992, 991.1RS and 993), and 5 mid engine cars (Cayman R, two 981GT4, current 718GT4, Lambo). I’ve also had a C6 Z06 and SL55AMG (front engine RWD). For me: mid engine is best.
If your definition of “better” is 0-60 or lap times, the 911 might win. If your definition is a particular way it feels to you, then the Cayman can be the “better” car. I also love the lines of the GT4.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to personal preference. I say to each their own. And aren't we lucky to have amazing choices when it comes to engine placement, NA v turbo, RWD v AWD etc.

I just moved to a 992 GT3 from a 718 GT4 (pdk to pdk).
I do not miss the GT4 for the roads or track and my only regret with the GT3 is not getting a 6MT as I won't track it as much as I initially thought due to getting gt4 clubsport to race this year. The GT3 is a much better car for all around use unless you crave the nimble feeling of the gt4 on roads and don't mind the sound and being down on power. The GT3 suspension is also much better than the GT4.
But is it worth the premium? hard to say. GT4 is a great car for the price tag imo

I feel fortunate to own a GT4 and really enjoy driving it every day
However, if I ever win the lottery . . . sign me up for a GT3

GT4 is a fun car but not anywhere near any 992 let alone a GT3 of any recent vintage. I love my GT4 (wife has a 992CS) but we have to be realistic - GT4/Spyder great fun car at pretty good price point but not nor ever will be a GT3.

However, I definitely see a GT3 in my future but as an additional car. That and the GT4 are keepers.

I want to do both at the same time. Yes PECLA has a 992GT3 but these are a dime a dozen in LA and maybe found on Turo for a day. I have only seen 1 GT4RS (a red one) in the wild here... though they are showing up a dealerships..
