Default Android auto whithout having porsche option carplay

hello,

I've got an spyder of october 2019 (model 2020) without carplay (option porsche)...so pcm 4.0
i ve got an android phone (google pixel 7 pro)
i would like android auto in my carPlease, Can you confirm the possible solutions?
1- Do I have to activate the porsche carplay option then install a dongle?
option porsche : 98204490006 – Apple® CarPlay
which dongle ? cusp ? carlink 4.0 ? ottocast u2 ? others

2- does the porsche carplay option also activate android auto?

3- is there another solution without having to activate the porsche carplay option (for example: direct connection to the car's usb socket)?
joyeauto ? others ?

thank you

As far as I know PCM 4.0 already has Android Auto and you just need to enable it, it was discussed here in the past if I am not mistaken.

Take a look, it should be very similar to what explained here

I was able to use the sdcard method to turn on Android Auto in my car that has no nav and no carplay.
Wired Android Auto should just work with a USB cable.

IMHO, the best option was offered by @Lucifer sharing the link in post #2, in that link you will find the AIO process, it is free to do and gives you Android Auto among other things.

No hardware is required for AA and my Pixel 7 Pro works perfectly for AA having done this PCM update.

I scanned the thread but saw little or no mention of Android Auto enablement?

Check out the link in post #80 in that thread.... it indicates that carplay and android auto are both activated during the process.

Not sure why you would do that after reading the post describing how to do it for free?

This is amazing, I don’t know how I missed that thread! As an avid tinkerer and BMW coder since 2012, I’m absolutely doing this

You can always patch back old firmware, but why they would find out? You would either have to plug in an android phone (why would they do that) or they would have to attempt to apply an update to the PCM and have it possibly fail. (I don't know the reasons why it would fail, but I can think of a couple reasons why it could fail)
