Default Metal "Clunk" noise when releasing brake from stationary position

Hi,

As the title suggests, I'm experiencing a metal "clunk" noise after I release the brake to pull away form a stationary stop. Is this normal for a PDK GT4? My manual car certainly didn't do it.

Car is literally brand new with 25 miles on it. First time driving it today.

Thanks,

Nick

That sound will not be coming from the PDK, it is operates more similar to a manual clutch engaging. If it is, that would be a problem. My guess is it is coming from your brakes. Either a loose caliper (unlikely), or a stuck pad, or most likely, the ebrake grabbing and needing adjustment.

At 25 miles, everything is just bedding in. Drive it with some intent, and get the brakes up to temp - would not be surpised if the sound goes away.

Thanks, I should’ve said - it’s coming from the rear of the car. So highly doubt it’s anything to do with PDK. Almost certainly the brakes, initially thought it was the auto hold releasing. But it’s not showing on the tac

Mine made similar noises for the first 200miles or so.... The metal clunking noise kind of went away after a while.

Going to take it to my local Porsche Center tomorrow, just to be on the safe side!

I bet it is just the brake holding. Has it been wet / cold?

Both actually. Although the car has just been PPF'd so has spent the last 10 days or so in a (warmish)unit

Mine (manual) does it when I put the car away wet. It is the brake sticking to the rotor, my Golf R did the same thing.

The car was valeted just before I picked it up (after PPF was laid). I'll let it dry out and give it a test drive!

Thanks for the suggestions! Sorry if I'm being precious ha
