Cup 2 R's & GT4RS
So seems they don't make a Cup 2 R to fit the rear of a GT4RS, unless they don't import them into my country that is. Closest I can find is
Which are a bit wider than stock 295/30 r20. Anyone have any luck with Cup 2 R's on this? Or maybe an alternative?

Did your car come with Cup 2 R's? Most Aussie 4RS's i've seen have had regular Cup 2's or dunlops.
Michelin does make them in 295 but none of our retailers have them listed yet, I would do some phoning around to see who has them listed. The same thing happened when I got one of the first sets of Bridgestone Re71RS's, nobody listed them but I called around and found a store that was able to order them. People who use 305 Nankangs rub, heck even the 295 Cup 2's have rubbed on my car at some tracks.

I'm curious: When I bought my 981 GT4, Hoosier R7s seemed to be pretty popular. I ran them for a couple years but eventually moved on to Pirelli DH scrubs as they were more economical and similar grip over the life of the tire. I'm not seeing any mention of running R7s on the GT4 RS even though R7s come in the stock sizes. I'm curious what the collective Rennlist wisdom vault has to say about, for example, R7 vs Cup 2R. I believe the Cup 2R are perhaps more expensive and don't last any longer than a set of R7s...?

The GT4RS has a wider track, 4mm/side, than a regular GT4. That puts the tire further out. Depending on tire shoulder design, rounded vs square, the chances are greater that you will rub/cut the tire with the fender under compression.

IMO...R7 is faster and last a bit more.
