Default Waiting for a Vessel

Hi RL,

I did Euro Delivery for a GT4 and dropped it off at Leipzig at the end of September.

My ED rep tells me it is still in Emden waiting for to be assigned a vessel.

Is that normal?

Thanks

Bit long IMO but 2 months is still in the realm of possibly normal. I bought some vehicles from asia in August (between the 5th and 15th), hurricanes messed up shipping so the boats they were scheduled on in sept ended up being pushed to beginning of oct and mid oct. There are lots of car carriers but if you're looking from specific port to specific port there aren't that many options. I usually do not see cars wait longer than a month and a half for being assigned a ship from the time they get to the port unless there is a big problem, but I ship from a big port to a big port.

Does Porsche dump NW cars at a port on the west coast? I could see that causing delays.

normal? no, but it’s common the last 2 months waiting in port

I appreciate the replies - very helpful. Now, I wait with bated breath to get the name of the vessel so I can watch it make it’s way to California!

My GT3 has been in Emden since 24 Nov 22 waiting on a ship.
Have heard it may be due to German port workers, or fuel or crew, or who knows.
Latest projection was to get on a ship 2 Dec. Which didn't happen as far as I know. . .

I did ED with my 4 RS and dropped it off at Leipzig mid-Oct. It missed several boats, but I have it on good authority that it should make the SFL Composer, which arrived in Emden yesterday. Fingers crossed for you that you won't have much longer to wait!

Updated shipping schedule just posted on the GT3 thread. Quote from the source "She said there is not a new shipping schedule (with new vessels/dates) available but what she did send me is the current schedule with updated dates. Looks like there have been some delays and these boats are leaving later than originally planned.

Anyone here get lucky and get assigned a vessel since we last talked? I’m almost at 3 months of waiting now…

Thanks for the helpful information! I finished ED and dropped my 911 at Zuffenhausen 3. December. I left an AirTag in the car, and I can see the vehicle is in a warehouse on the north bank of the bay.

That's a great idea with the air tag. I just need someone at the port to put one in our car.

That's something Porsche could do leaving production, put an air tag in the car so you can watch it.

[X] - PORSCHE AirTag $500
