Default Number of gt4RS builds planned

I heard on a British car show that Porsche intends to build as many as 7000 GT4RS cars world wide in two or possibly three model years. Looking for confirmation

Seems very unlikely they would build that many. They would outnumber regular 718 GT4 production if they did...

They probably could build that many from a plant capacity perspective, but only if they build no 718 models other than the GT4RS variant for the next 2 years or so.

I’m surprised they didn’t make 7k GT4s. What’s consensus on production numbers for GT4?

Porsche reported 20,502 718 worldwide deliveries in 2021.

Expanded Osnabrucke 718 production starting summer 2023.

It seems possible if that was their target goal.

My market will only get 1/3 of 2022 allocations for 2023.

7000 was the number they aimed for pre-Ukraine. Now they’re having so large supply problems and other models to make on the same production line I reckon half that number would be very optimistic.

I keep hearing these supply problem statements but to my knowledge Zuff hasn't dipped below a single unit of their max output of 80,000 cars P.A.
If anything Porsche has made record deliveries over the past couple years and will probably continue to do so with the war ongoing.

Also MY23 deliveries for USA are apparently 1000, which normally represents 1/3 of global deliveries for any particular model, so no reason with a MY24 there isn't another thousand bringing the global total to 6-7k

To the OP...are you referring to Chris Harris' estimated build during the recent Top Gear episode with GT4RS? I heard Harris say he thought there might be 7000 made but he said it rather off the cuff, as in, an order of magnitude statement to contrast with the Ferrari and Pugani volumes being referenced It didnt strike me as an informed estimate.

estimates by others here on rennlist, based on current production volumes and delivery pace and other bits of "evidence", would have us believe the final number will be roughly half that.

Of course, even the best laid plans....

Yeah, a while back someone said 7K and everyone keeps repeating it. The number of repeats does not mean it is a valid statement, especially in light of what has happened in the past year.
