I really liked the yellow I saw today on the GT4 - but yellow stitching requires yellow calipers, and I don't want the PCCB, and I won't paint my calipers yellow (any other color is fine).
I REALLY want Orange - but no matching seat belts.

Looking for ideas
I sooooo want to pull the trigger on Lizard Green w/Gentian. 48 days to decide.

My current 8K mile GT4 w/race tex steering wheel looks like crap as well, and I'm a very tidy person. New spec will be leather.

Couldn't agree more. Even my SA (who is awesome) didn't know this when I ordered. It was frustrating, but in person doesn't bother me much.

To me it looks like they used the wheel fabric to clean their hands and will add that if that same owner would have had a leather steering wheel and shifter in that car it would look just as bad. I'll wager the rest of the interior needed a bath as well, I can see that even the shifter boot is filthy!

I am pretty sure that it can be cleaned up, some people don't care at all about things like this so it wouldn't matter what the material was.

Yeah, my SA did not warn me neither. I honestly thought it was an error on the configurator itself. Didn’t even think it would come like that. Well it is what it is now

I had a Racetec steering wheel in my 997. I now always spec it in leather. Even if you always wear gloves etc the shifter boot always looks dusty and collects lint.

I wasn’t fortunate enough to spec my spyder. When I first saw the interior two things jumped out at me, firstly the person didn’t spec heated seats (dumb), secondly I thought the trim was plasti dipped. It turns out the trim is leather wrapped, which I don’t think is a very popular option. The stitching is grey / black so it is quite subtle (I like that). I don’t really care for the leather dash, but I really like that ticking that box brings the racetex on the lower dash and door card. I think the muted interior goes well with the elegant gentian blue exterior. I may change the seat centres to something more interesting, but I’m in no hurry to do that (also the 18 way seats are incredible).

Suede doesn't do well with wear. The idea is to absorb sweat on track (haha) days, so one can imagine it will get worn and filthy. Mine is leather on touch surfaces.

it isn’t real suede, and designed to be cleaned

I think it looks great! May I ask what you don't like about the leather dash?

Here are a couple of interior pics from my new CGTS 4.0 (CWM). Overall, I wanted the black/white contrast with some red accents to complement the red brake calipers.
  • 18-way seats
  • White gauges, Guards red sport chrono
  • Carbon fibre trim and illuminated door sills
  • Embossed storage compartment
  • Smoking package
  • Multi-function steering wheel
  • Burmester sound system
Also shown is the T-Design cupholder installed - a great "find" on the "What have you bought your 718 lately?" thread!

Thanks to fellow Rennlisters for your patience and advice. So much of what I read and learned from the community ended up in this car.
