The dealers themselves sometimes aren't aware of what is available and what isn't. My SA, for example, was certain PCCB are available and didn't understand why the build doesn't go through. Dude wasn't malicious; he just wasn't aware.

 

Assuming both Buckets and PCCB remain unavailable for April builds?

 

For the Buckets:
The stop order is not related to build date. The stop order date was put in place in November - any new order that was submitted into the system after the stop order date (I think Nov 16?) were unable to select the Buckets. If you got your order in ahead of this date you were able to get the buckets on your order.

 

I agree. Also, they had just added the whole “body molded/three levels of firmness” option recently. I have trouble imagining they would have done that if they were just about to discontinue the seats entirely.

As for sales advisors, I suspect their best strategy is to say the seats are gone forever, because they don’t want to disrupt a sale by encouraging a customer to wait.

The bucket seats are shown as available (again) in the German configurator as of today. So if you have ordered your GT4/Spyder and the build hasn't started yet, you should contact your salesperson immediately.

For me, the seats are unfortunately reintroduced too late, as my car is in production at the moment. Furthermore, I bought the GT2 seats from the Porsche parts service for twice the price in the mean time. I'm super disappointed even though I am happy for those who have more luck.

 

The seats have always been on the configurator, at least in America. I don't think that means they are available. I just tried to add them to my build 2 days ago, and they weren't available.

 

As of today the seats are AVAILABLE in Germany again!

Note: The German configurator, as you rightly say, also shows all non-available equipment, but marks those accordingly (the configurator in the US does differentiate between availabe and not available).

 

Well ****... Sucks for me I guess. Just past freeze point...

 

Any news regarding PCCB? Anyone managed to go to V200 after adding them in the last few days?

 

I'll be interested to see if USA gets them available again or just every jurisdiction that sells a heftily priced club-sport package.
