Default Titanium Wheel Bolt on the Configurator

You can now choose wheel bolts in titanium on the Porsche configurator. It's the first time I've seen it (officially from Porsche).
The price is $1800, worth it to save 2,2lbs?

$1800 to save a kilo of weight... I'd put that money towards an aftermarket set of wheels or exhaust first

I think you can get a full set aftermarket for like $300. Steep even for Porsche pricing.

Spend the money on a stud conversion kit.

amen!

https://www.rennline.com/competition...-kit-sku-ls06/

full kit with steel lugs - $135 currently on sale
full kit with titanium bolts - $268

so about $130 for titanium vs steel

Perhaps the price reflects the additional cost to the production process. Like maybe it's very distributive to have different bolts for a particular car. Then again, as I type this, I can't see how lug bolts can be that distributive. Maybe Porsche is greedy. 😆

Any and all parts made from exotic materials from Porsche are wildly expensive. For example while GT4 RS Weissach Package exhaust tips are Titanium made by Akrapovic they are asking $3k for the pair. Akrapovic’s exhaust tips are around $1k, though they do not fit OEM exhaust system, you can see the premium Porsche charges.

It is OEM, someone will spec this.

Worth is personal decision.

Is it really worth it to get leather fuse box cover in deviated stitching? Or any CXX items?

We want what we want. A lot of the options we picked doesn’t make sense from a non-car guy’s point of view. Heck, most people will think a Porsche is not worth it.

I am a fairly compulsive box checker, and this still seems like a very easy one to skip...

I checked lots of boxes on my Spyder's $123k build, but this is simply a "bridge too far". Even for Porsche. Ridiculous!

Who on earth would want a mere plastic fuse box cover??? That’s just sub standard!

Of course the fuse box cover is covered in leather in a track car😇

Yes it’s a PTS painted key and leather steering column😇

Yes it’s leather on the climate panel😇

Yes it’s BOSE in a car where you can’t listen to music😇

Yes it’s the carbon document box😇

It’s all about the big picture. And what the car means to you. If you want the titanium lug nuts to get the lightest OEM car possible, get them and enjoy the feeling even others won’t know, understand or care.
