Default STEK CF PPF vs Porsche CF

Had a stripe of the STEK CF PPF provided courtesy of Invisibra in DFW. Tested it against an interior sample and then on a 22 GT3 as well as a 19 GT3RS. Pics are from the 19 GT3RS. IMHO not a good match for doing the roof of the GT4RS WP.

So this is ppt that has a carbon fiber design on it? Interesting. I have seen some PPF that are starting to come in colors. SO its like the next step in vinyl wrapping.

There were a couple of comments of tieing the front hood to the rear wing via the roof. Some claimed a good match using this product. As you can now see for yourself .........

Way off!

On a GT4RS I’d definitively avoid making it tacky sticking on part for tape to “enhance” it. Not possible IMO

3M makes several different "Carbon Fiber" vinyl wrap variants - Different weave pattern sizes, different shades, and different levels of gloss from matte to shiny.

I know this because I used to have some of it installed on trim parts on the interior of my car a looooong time ago.* The quality/realism of the carbon fiber effect on the 3M vinyl has improved a lot in the decades since then.

*This was 20+ years ago. And yes, it was installed on a Honda. I'm not proud, but this was the style of the time...

Vinyl is NOT PPF, it offers no real protection.

Sure, 3M vinyl then PPF over vinyl is doable.
