for Fidelity warrantees, you add the time and miles from what you have at the time of purchase. Just know that the cost of the warranty goes up based on mileage at time of purchase, plus an annual price increase for new business each year.

"plus an annual price increase for new business each year." What does this mean? You pay each year on your policy?

I was afraid I was not being clear enough, sorry. No, once you buy it you bought it. What I mean is that when you are deciding when to make the purchase, the price is determined by mileage and current pricing. Fidelity raises their new business prices on Jan 1st each year. I just bought mine so that I got the 2022 price and not the 2023 price. Why I didn't wait until December is beyond me. lol

@AdamIsAdam Thank you very much!

So its best to wait until your factory warranty is just about to end to get the longest time, yet it also depends on your mileage if you are close to one of the mileage price hike points.

Thank you again!!

I’ve never had to use it but GEICO offers a low price extended warranty for new purchase (so not relevant here but an fyi for others).
