Default Manufacturer warrantee extension worth it for Spyder?

Spyder Warrantee expiring soon, intended keeper.

Wanted to ask long term Porsche owners if this is worth extending? And if so, for how long?

Like any insurance, they are betting that you won't need it. Like any insurance, if the claim is too large, they will try to wiggle their way out. Unless you can get it for stupid cheap, I would pass.

By the way, I purchased the extended warranty for my Alfa and my Volvo XC-90 T8 as that thing is supercharged, turbocharged, and a battery powered hybrid and Alfa is just Alfa. I would pass on it on a Porsche.

FWIW, I bought my 2016 GT4 as CPO, w/30k miles on the clock. In the 38 months of my ownership, it's been in for service 15 times...all covered under warranty, save for $75 for re-attaching front sway bar, after dealer adjustment at purchase, by a different dealer. I was not allowed to take car home at signing/payment, as dealer found a leak in "one of" the mufflers. Said muffler was $4,000 alone, probably less than service/warranty plan, if bought at time of vehicle purchase.

As always, YMMV.

Expiring soon? When did your car go into service, even a 2019 wouldn't be up until well into next year?

FWIW, I add 2 years to mine before I drove away from the dealership.....

There is a lot of value in having an extended warranty beyond the obvious repair coverage, like peace of mind and resale value. Highline Autos is the cheapest Rennlist Fidelity provider, here are some rates to get you an idea of what you're looking at. Fidelity Platinum is Fidelity's top tier coverage, accepted at all Porsche dealerships and licensed independents in the country, for additional pricing and an example contract you can reach me at tgibson@highline-autos.com or (855) 924-1333

Fidelity Platinum:
718 Spyder w/ <10k miles

5 years / additional 60k miles
$100 deducible
-$2,472
$250 deducible
-$2,233

718 Spyder w/ <25k miles

5 years / additional 60k miles
$100 deducible
-$5,547
$250 deducible
-$4,782

Taxes and processing included.

does the car come with more than just the factory 1 year 10k warranty? I thought that was the only thing it came with. I haven't got my car yet so haven't explored warranty options yet so I'm a bit curious to this thread.

You're confusing warranty with maintenance/service. American cars get a 4 yr 50,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty as well.

The 1yr 10k on your build sheet is for maintenance, i.e. your first service visit (oil change, etc) is included in the purchase price.

You can extend either of these with either an extended warranty for the 4/50, or with a prepaid maintenance plan from your dealer.

FWIW, in Canada the first service is not included for free.

I just bought a 10/100k Fidelity warranty from Troy Dietrich. My car had under 10k miles on it which is a price break point. I think it was $4,400 with $100ded. I hope to never use it. Lol. And I hope to love my car for a very long time.

EDIT: This dealership has the best pricing on Fidelity warrantees. I'm told Fidelity is the only aftermarket company to be trusted. They do seem to have good BBB ratings and have been around a long time. Many shops say they take this company but refuse to deal with others.

Can someone explain what these quoted time / miles mean in plain terms?
When it says "5 Years" is that 5 years from time of purchase of the extended policy or the original purchase of the car?
When it says "additional 60K miles", is this 60K miles from what point? Original warranty end at 50K so total of 110K miles, or 60K miles from what ODO reads at time of Policy purchase?

Thanks in advance.
