Knowing the acoustics focus is the powertrain, out of curiosity, I checked to see if the delete option is available in other markets. I know it’s required stateside due to the mandatory back up cam… but wanted to see if it’s possible add the delete after the fact. Looks like it’s available in Germany still. Beyond the loss of backup camera curious if you lose any other functions? And if it’s possible to retrofit for us stateside?

 

I’ve pulled the PCM from my 981 GT4 and installed the radio delete shelf. In my case, aside from a couple things that you lose in the dash (GPS time, for instance), and a handful of faults that will pop up when you hook up a PIWIS (they don’t throw a CEL), there haven’t been any issues.

I do not think I have ever turned my radio on . . . but its much more than a radio and just curious as to why you would ever want to delete it?

Haha... and to think the 987.2 Spyder didn't have this feature.
