Default Camber and tyre question - 718 GTS 4.0

Dear All,

I need your help/input with my 2021 BGTS 4.0 (25y). I use it on the track (Hungaroring) with Michelin Cup 2 N in the stock sizes (235/35/20 front and 265/35/20 rear). Everything is stock on the car and I use it on tracks and mountain roads. No daily driving at all.

The issue is with the rear tyres. As you can see, the outer edge of booth tyres is worn, the rest of the tyres is good. I used them on 4 track days. After asking a few people, I got the recommendation to get the camber changed. I wen't to a car mechanics, and asked for changes. You can find the report below. The issue is, that the toe was already at maximum and so the guy was not able to make significant changes in the camber for the rear wheels (oiginal 1'38 and 1'42 after the change, see report below). For the front wheels he was able to do much more (0'49 vs 1'20). Do you have any experience here? Should it be possible to add more camber on the rear wheels with stock setup? Is the fron camber ok or should that be more as well? What can I do to have more camber? Is the approach to raise the camber a good approach to save the tyres?

I have also uploaded one picture about the front wheels. Here the issue is, that it starts to wore where I have marked it with the red and white arrows. Only at that part. The rest of the tyre is fine, but here its fully worn.

I would appreciatr any Feedback to make my tyres happy (-:

I am also considering to go to 245/30/20 front and 295/30/20 rear which is the standard GT4 setup. For the rims it should be ok. What do you think about that idea?

I'm no expert on suspension, but I wouldn't expect wheel alignment is the issue, especially on the rear. I have 245/295 tires on my CGTS, and rear is -2'0 and front -1'4 and no issue on light/medium track duty.

It looks to simply be a case of the tire over heating. What pressures were you running? Don't under estimate the impact of hot tire pressure on track.

Normal pressure is 2,4bar (35psi). I go to the track with 2 bar (29psi) and it goes up until 2,4-2,5bar in a 20 min session. After that I lower the pressure again. But tyres are hot, I agree and that can be a part of the issue. Which pressure do you use?

How have you been able to do -2'0 on the back? My mechanics said the -1'42 is the maximum he was able to do... For me that sound low but he is the mechanics....Thank you!

To get more rear negative camber you will need to add Adj rear toe links.

I'm partial to Tarett as I like their adj https://tarett.com/products/toe-cont...torsport-style

TPC Racing is also another well liked option.

Szia,

Nem a Széchenyi emlékút közelében laksz véletlenül? Nyáron ott láttam egy 25th Anniversary Boxstert.
