my guess is that the technology in the PASM controller for the 3RS will undoubtedly require a new DSC version...

IMO since you can adjust rebound and compression the benefits of a DSC will be limited....

agree seems like this new system is somewhere between the previous PASM and DSC functionality (where DSC dynamically adjusts algorithmically - based on "map" parameters) - where with this new system you can re-adjust the suspension "on-the-fly" - although I am not sure I'd want to spend a lot of time twiddling ***** while on track...

I also wonder if this is (still) a PASM-style shock or something new...

It's probably a PASM shock...it just gives you the ability to retune both settings on the fly instead of basing it on two maps like in prior PASM.
All this adjustability will require a lot of testing and will vary from track to track, so plan to test a lot in order to maximize the benefits....at least on a DE you will be able to try 1-2 settings per hit since the changes are done inside on the fly.

all you need is a laptop (in the passenger seat), a USB cable and your trusty DSC installed!

Not necessarily. DSC would/could still allow Low/Medium/High damping parameters (6-way control, for overall curve) , along with damping limits. Not to mention all the other parameters for dive/squat control, G-force, et al.

The onboard ***** would/could just put one on a different part, or different map, of the underlying settings.

Agreed, that's why I said limited......but the two most important parameters could be adjusted from the steering wheel.

Yes, another car built out of unobtanium. I just feel so fortunate to have my plebeian Spyder.

I have no interest in a rear engined trackable street car in this price bracket. I know it’s sacrilege on rennlist but price point wise I’ll stick with the Fcars and soon mclaren but for the track we’re in cup car, 296 challenge, Dallara, BaC territory but with a lot more consumables and compromises.

Yes...price wise is getting there but to be honest would love to have one besides the 4RS.
I never expressed interest to my dealer so I'm out of the list, almost zero chance of getting one at this stage.
Anyway, price wise is a bit too much (remember we get killed with government taxes on cars) and for the track we use the benefits will be minimal. GT4RS would be the better track tool in my case.

Where do you reside and what track? Is it too slow for the aero?

My SA has jokes. He sent me a Comm # for a GT3RS demand order yesterday based on the config I submitted through the configurator 😂 It's fun to dream.

Puerto Rico.....our track at Salinas has turns that are not that fast (it's a more technical track that rewards a nimble/agile car) so aero will provide no advantage here. This is a car for big tracks, like COTA.
