From doing the factory tour, I can tell you it is either as a result of the fenders not being to their standards or the fenders not being ready in your colour. The Stuttgart production line doesn’t have the ability to stop and pull a car from the line. What likely is happening is they will finish the car full with the temp white fenders and then it will head over to Porsche Exclusive to have them swapped out.

Much appreciated! Looks like the PTS green car posted before mine also has the white front fenders. Leads me to believe a possible shortage of parts may be to blame.

lol didn't even notice that on my own car! I guess that would explain why my car was in production for as long as it was.

GT4 RS front wings are carbon fibre so may will be fitter away from the normal production line. More than likely in the CXX area of the factory.

Same situation here. Mine was in production from 9/20 to 10/24. Must have been a complication with the fenders.

Mine was 9/21 to 10/24. That makes a lot of sense now. I initially thought it may have been an issue related to ordering parts related to the stop delivery others were experiencing.

Why is PDLS+ such a big deal? I had the option to select PDLS+ but didn’t specifically to keep weight down and reduce the cost of windshield replacements.

There’s a reason why the GT4RS Clubsport uses the base lights: weight savings.

It might have something to do with the fact that the base lights look like they came out of a 2005 Golf - some don’t like the look.

Yeah, but that’s an opinion and I think the opposite: the PDLS+ LED headlights look busy and disjointed with sharp lines that don’t jive with the curvaceous body shape….to me.

What isn’t an opinion is the weight of the two options.

Yup, that weight difference would likely be the difference going for pole position.... ;-)

How did the weight saving radio and AC delete options work out for previous gen GT3 buyers? Not so much...

That’s the cool thing with an option, you don’t have to get PDLS if you want to save some lbs.

I think on most cars you could get away with being less **** about weight. But when lightweight wheels are a $15,640 option, it makes sense to save weight where it’s free.

I totally agree, options are a good thing. I guess I just don’t understand the over-enthusiasm for being “lucky” enough to get them. If they were matrix LED like on Audis and the 992, then maybe it’d be justified, but they are just regular LEDs like I had on my 2013 BMW.
