Had my GT4 in for service - had a engine control fault - so I had them check the AC. End result is they were related. A faulty solenoid for the AC was intermittently preventing cold air and also eventually threw a code. When the AC didn’t work I didn’t have the code - it came a few weeks later. Anyway, this may be the solution.

I just had codes P2D89 and P2D8C. After about 5 restarts the CEL disappeared and so did one of the codes. One code still shows after the CEL cleared so I guess I’ll ask for them to look at the TSB when I take it in for a service in a month.
I just had my car in for maintenance and while there mentioned my air conditioning issue and gave them the bulletin. They found no codes, couldn't get it to duplicate the issue, and sent me on my way without the software update that would've probably helped me down the road. Dealers suck.
I also told them that my auto start/stop feature wasn't working and the warning triangle was on. Got it back with "unable to duplicate" even though the warning symbol was staring us in the face when the car was pulled up to the drive. Didn't even give it an effort. Dealers suck.

Reviving old A/C issue thread. Mine started blowing cold air out of the driver’s vents and hot air out of the passenger’s vents. Brought it for service the following day. 2 weeks and a full dashboard removal, 4 servos were replaced, dash reinstalled, and same issue. Anyone else have this issue lately. 2022 Boxster 25 here with 14k miles. Never had the issue before 2 weeks ago. Also never had the chance to reboot the PCM because the dealer took the car in so quickly. They also recharged the A/C refrigerant while they were troubleshooting it before the full dashboard removal. 🤢
The one time my AC blew hot air, the radiators where clogged with "stuff" (sand, needles etc) and the car started to blow hot air to cool the car down. Did you notice any higher than normal water or oil temps?
delivery day on way back home AC blows hot air… took it back and they informed me that the factory forgot to put in freon.. filled it up did a quick test and off I went again.
A month later, passenger side blows hot, driver side blows “cool” but not super cold air.. back it goes to the dealer with no diagnosis yet.
Had nearly the same thing happen. Only in my case the AC was partially filled and dealer filled the unit. Next AC on the driver side but not the passenger. Filled again and problem went away.

I had this happen to me once or twice in the beginning of ownership. My resolve was to never turn the car off without the AC button turned off, in turn its not automatically on when you fire up the car. The standard system defaults to "ON" every time you get in, though this will leave the AC option still off until you select it. I also get in the car, turn the key one click, turn off the AC/HVAC system completely, then fire her up. If AC is required, I will turn the system on for a minute of two without the AC butting being active - press the AC button after a few minutes and COLD air is all I have ever gotten since.
If the above doesn't work for you, then its back to the dealer!
These new instances sound inherently different to original problem. These and other recent gremlin threads…is factory suffering a quality control break down?

Was told yesterday afternoon the 4 new A/C Blender Door Servos did not fix the passenger’s side vent issue, but the shop foreman re-filled the freon again this morning and all is now well. Works perfectly. Thank goodness!
The AC did the same thing to me yesterday (2022 CGTS). Pulled over, shut off the car, waited. After restart, AC was back to normal.
It’s almost like the start-up sequence misses the AC compressor activation.
I’d be interested to hear what the “easy fix” is to this “known issue.”
Had this happen for the first time today - was still warming up and at very low engine speeds but the AC compressor looks like it never kicked on. I just stopped, waited a few seconds, restarted engine, AC back to normal ie. super cool enough to make my hands feel chilly cold after a while of driving.
This happened to me on Friday. AC working fine, got out and went into a shop for 20 mins , came back out and the AC was blowing warm (not good in 32C heat!). turned the temp on the AC up to full hot and then to full cold and it worked fine after that. Hopefully just a glitch in the matrix.
