Nice to have no traffic like that. Pretty amazing that it still did 7:38 considering it was like a casual stroll in the park in terms of pushing. That's the same time I did yeet-ing my 981 GTS a few years ago and you're literally coasting around in a lot of places. Huge potential in that car. As any Cayman though it gets unsettled and bouncy on the Ring compared to a 911 when you start to carry a lot of speed in.

Hoping for good weather on the Manthey days in 3 weeks time for my first laps in the GT4. Very curious how it will feel with the springs and DSC in terms of composure.

Great job Larry, the sound is amazing, talk about intense, for those getting a RS you better invest in a bag of ear plugs!

Great video, thanks for your post and sharing the video! Now, how do you go back to your own P car after driiving the GT4RS at the 'Ring?

Nice driving makes you realise how fast 7:30 there is.

The GT4 RS seems to put the power really well considering that it had the old MPSC2's.
Also looks like the gearing and the GT3 engine allows the car to pull really well mid to high speeds
yeah the instructor told me to "stay in it" through the compression at the bottom of Fuchsrorhe but that takes some ***** ... hence "stay in it ... stay in it"

Yeah the PSDS event only had 45 cars total, so by the end of the 2nd day the track was pretty empty which is rare - I was pretty tired myself and suffering from bad jet lag, so my concentration was way off, so as you note
I am coasting a lot in quite a few places, so there is a LOT of time to be found ... I wish I had put the garmin in earlier, as I had some faster laps in convoy with our instructor Andreas Mayrl (992 GT3) and another group driver
in his 991.2 GT3RSMR ...

when I go back in August I will make sure I capture some more laps in the 992 GT3!

I will say that the GT4RS is epic - but I agree that the 718 does move a round a LOT more than a 911 on the Ring, I was quite surprised how bumpy it was in places I never knew there were any!!

I am pretty sure I can find another 5+ secs in that car if I concentrate - so I am hoping to break 7:30 in August in the more familiar 911 GT3 platform!

I think you will find that with your mods the GT4 will be better on a more compliant suspension!

post details!!!

yep 7:30's is quick - not a lot of time or space to f**k up!

Congrats, that's a great lap. I bet 95+% of us here couldn't touch it.
Well done.

aw shucks! I think the GT4RS might have had quite a bit to do with it!

I wasn't really trying that hard as it was the last lap of the day!

I've been thinking about this... Following a 991.2 RSMR around the 'Ring I think if I had a 4RS I'd wait for the Manthey kit and install that ...

If you’re going to run the ring with any regularity, a Manthey kit seems a no-brainer.

You seem to like bright colours Larry - me too. What did you think of the arctic grey in person?

Kit is not available for the 4RS yet but when it is it may be available via techquipment as Manthey now part owned by Porsche are distributing their kits via dealers failing that Eric at @SupremePower will be able to source them!

Not as bad as agate grey chalk or meteor grey.

The shark blue was stunning

I know which one of. these I'd buy!

maybe... the blue-ish tint makes it more bearable than say Agate, Meteor or chalk...

absolutely! even with "gold' wheels!

Yes, I think the blue tinge is what makes that colour interesting. Personally, I don’t think porsche was very successful blending the blue elements in (wheels / seats) but I might feel different if I saw it in person
