Default Best Front Licence Plate Mount for GTS 4.0?

I have read the posts on all the various options for non-drilled front mounts. Anyone with a GTS 4.0 install something they like? Eezeplate looks like my front runner, but the price and front radiator over heating issues are concerns. Just wondered if anyone has found something they really like for a GTS.

I put this on a few of my cars, include my CGTS (2.5T, but same bumper) and I am really happy with it:

Mine is Craig's, originally bought one for my GT350. Simple, cheap and works great. I particularly like the location of the mounted plate.

Is that just their $59.95 universal option? It tapes on with 3m?

Not the inventor of the idea, as I read this somewhere on RL years ago...but using hardware store L-brackets, the original frame screws perfectly to the UNDERSIDE of the front bumper. Six photos attached;

An overview of 'the stuff'.

Use straight-edge to ALIGN the bottom position of the L-brackets to the molded tab on the frame.

Showing the brackets are loose and DO rotate on the frame.

Screw through L-bracket slightly penetrates frame. Cover this with thick duct tape before attaching plate.

Under-bumper view & before attaching screw. Yes, a single screw--fully driven--will 'rock this up'.

Mounted perfection.
Key attributes:
  • Using the stock bracket provides you proper 'left-right' and 'up-down' alignment because of the molded tab in the back of the frame.
  • DO leave the L-brackets loose when attaching to the frame. Leaving some float makes it MUCH easier to attach underneath.
  • Choose screw lengths and washers to slightly-penetrate the face of the frame. You SHOULD cover those over with heavy duct tape before mounting the plate.
  • The Porsche provided bracket is specific to the car...so you get a different bracket with Sport Design vs. non-SD front end.
  • Less than $3 in parts, on-center alignment, TIGHT to the bumper, doesn't mar the paint, a happy next / future owner and NO TICKETS.

Cravenspeed makes Platypus, a tow hook bracket plus providing foam buttons so the parking sensor don't alarm. They don't list the 4.0 GTS, but might be worth a call if you want a no drill solution. Easy to remove and install the tow hook for track days.

Thank you, does it matter which one you choose from the drop down menu?

They changed their menu and naming system. I have the Mustang one in my 2018 GT350 and it looks identical to the one pictured and what I ordered for the Porsche, which is unit 1456. You may want to call them to be sure. Frankly, I'm curious as to the differences between each of them. Please report back.

You better ask them. When I ordered mine it was simply called the Universal Mount - they have a new website now.
