Default We use our mid-engine cab for road trips all of the time.

I bought this set to maximize the storage and hold the wife back to filling only the two bags she gets!

Wow. Those two frunk bags looks like they were made for the space as they look like they fit perfectly. I see a watermark for Schnell. Can you share where you got them? How is the quality and are they holding up well?

They are holding up well, and the link above this post will take you to Schnell where I bought them from. Be aware they are not suitcases but rather soft side bags (like a duffle bag) sized to fit the trunk and frunk in the 981/718 cars. Constructed out of heavy nylon and with decent straps and zippers, up front there is some space above them for soft items like jackets or blankets. Because they are not hard sided you need to be aware and fill them only to capacity, stuff them until the are bulging and you will fight to stuff them in place in the trunks. I think it helps to think of these more like back packs then suitcases.

How do you keep the wife from stuffing the bejesus out of them Westy? I need hard sided bags to keep her in bounds.

Ramon, very nice indeed but for me the price precludes its purchase, $1200US is just a bit steep.

Well, the Spyder wasn’t cheap either

No argument there! Still that is one expensive suitcase... the other things I like about the set I have, soft sided, not likely to scratch going in or out, folds up small and tucks away for storage when not being used, as I mentioned the set I pictured are more like sports/duffle bags.

What I do like about your suitcase, the hard sides make moving about easier as do the wheels and solid handles, you could use it for regular (non-car) travel, the set I have is only for the Spyder.

I bought it for intercontinental flights, and yes, traveling in style in Spyder to the airport. Soft-bags in airplanes doesn't bring much happiness for me

PS, you’ll need the XL version to fill up your frunk

ahh I forgot to take a picture, but this past weekend I took my car from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for a track day. I packed 1 duffle bag, 1 Laptop bag, 1 camera bag, 1 tool bag + long tools(torque wrench and others), yeti water cooler( about 10 drinks), 1 Cratebox to carry smaller tools. Pretty much all in the front of the car.

Below is what we had in my 2013 Boxster during a 3 week road trip to the US, as you can see there were stops at Griots, Macy's, Duty Free and even Costco for of all things hash browns!

All of this fit in the two trunks and a little behind the seats, but nothing at our feet... the trick is start out light because once the credit card comes out the space fills in quickly!

Dang, that is a lot of stuff. When we went to Werks Reunion last year, I basically test fitted three carry on suitcases a few days before leaving. I told my wife, you get one, I get one and the last one is for toiletries. For her suitcase, I did tell her she could expand the suitcase to fit her clothes so she wasn't so bent out of shape about the limited clothes she could bring.

Now if you're really looking to spruce up your travel game, you can pick up one these limited edition to 911 units from Rimowa for the low, low price of $2890. The interior has Pepita trim and it includes a leather Porsche branded luggage tag with the Porsche badge on the outside.

I do wish Rimowa would bring back their PTS luggages because I wouldn't mind picking up a Riviera Blue suitcase but I'd be scared to see what they would charge for such an item.

Heading out next week on roadtrip that will be 7 days. Heading up to Napa and then back down PCH. The plan is two carry-ons in the frunk for our clothes, toiletry needs and then use the trunk for camera gear, laptop, food/drinks, etc. I will update how the packing goes.

I would have to swap my sofa's for buckets with Pepita inserts.
Hmmm, no thanks
