Default Some great insight into the Ukraine wiring harness shortage

Wanted to share this article published by The Local DE, a German news source with reporters situated locally in German.

it seems that some of the wiring harness factories in Ukraine remain open and operational at 30-40% capacity, with additional security and relocation to bunker locations. Others have already been re-located to Tunisian, and additional capabilities are opening soon in Romania. It seems they are operating at close to 70% capacity at this time. Clearly the Leoni task force is finding ways to navigate this challenge with plans to mirror and duplicate production elsewhere.

Spoke with my GSM yesterday. The latest update from Porsche senior Execs to GSM’s and Dealership owners if that production continues on all vehicles, with the exception of Tycan.

FWIW, report just on CNBC stated that global chip production facing another headwind as "neon", crucial in chip production, as a significant amount is sourced from the Ukraine.

Well if the supplier is at 70%, eventually that’ll inpact the production line.

Interesting your GSM stated all lines open except Taycan. That’s vague with respect full rate production on the other lines.

Also if u want to add another wrinkle into vehicle production it seems Russia produces about 30% of palladium in the world a metal used in catalytic converters, fuel cells and other electrical components
