MY23 GT4/Spyder Changes

TXshaggy just said what I said but better and in multiple different ways. A sales agreement and 'allocation' without v200 is smoke and mirrors. The dealer may be fairly confident based off allocations they normally get of being able to honor their agreement but there is no way it's set in stone. Porsche tells dealerships what they get not the other way around and sometimes there are dry spells on allocations on models. So having a sales agreement for a specific model year is fluff, because in this next round of allocations some people are likely going to get MY22s and others MY23s in the same release just like happened last year.
I never said that the sales contract or this shady dealer practice meant you were getting a car… that’s where the confusion seems to have found it’s way into this discussion.

maybe I misunderstood what you were saying (I assumed since you said waiting on an allocation you mean people at v70 waiting to go v200, not people who have allocations and are v200 with a MY22 build date) but what I was saying is if you aren't already v200, you aren't waiting on a MY22 allocation, you're just waiting on an allocation in general; maybe it's MY22, maybe MY23, and maybe it'll never be.

“Y’all must’ve forgot!” I’ve been hearing it’s alive and well for 2023. Numbers starting to indicate likewise so I have high hopes. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking on my part because I’m on the list but I truly believe it’s accurate because it’s now two dealerships that previously told me there wouldn’t be a MY23 have said there will be and they have both recently received GT4 allocations for this quarter. Anyone wanna do a little sig bet?

If Porsche has a number of parts ready to go to be put into these cars, they will build the cars. Whatever model year they specify is really irrelevant. They won't throw away the parts when there is such demand for the vehicles. Nothing is normal right now about the anything in the global economy. Be happy we haven't yet blown the world to bits. The US is at DEFCON 3.
In June or July, I should be taking delivery of my new Audi RS5, which will be my daily driver to replace my 2018 Macan GTS. The intent behind getting the RS5 was to get one car, that if I had to, would fulfill all my driving wants and needs (think "high performance all-season tire"). If I am happy enough with it, I may take advantage of the current market demand and sell my Spyder. It is very highly spec'd, and I would also want the money I put into it for PPF and ceramic coating as well as my full set of winter wheels and tires (for cold weather driving, not snow). Of course, when I take it out of winter storage in a few weeks and start driving it again, this idea may go out the window !! I need something to make me happy these days.
