Not sure who you are mate but I suggest you sticking to discussing your own car and facts.

Since you know so much about my car maybe you can check Natsoft and tell me how many track days I did in it last year, specifically when lockdown was lifted in October. It was 5 in 7 weeks including 2 days at Bathurst (Oct to Dec 21). 4 on Natsoft and a 5th which was my own private track day and isn't on Natsoft.

How would the experiences of one instance establish the experiences/expectations of all subsequent builds? Especially given the numerous potential points of failure in a engine?

Because it’s better than using zero data points.

While better than zero, one instance does not dictate a "pattern", nor is it enough data points to "set expectations". Especially given that the source motors can be in different condition/mileage/run-in procedures prior to conversion, and build parts most likely sourced from different vendors.

Still, given the relative lack of people actually tracking these, a single data point represents a fairly large portion of the overall pool. It can't be used to draw any conclusions, but it would be good to get some info from Rick or anyone else with regards to expected longevity since that doesn't seem to be talked about much.

We know that stock road engines last a very, very long time even in racing conditions. Lots have participated in 24h races many times over. The argument over just how many trackdays this one lasted seems a bit pointless by comparison.

The real issue I have with your constant relatively negative view on all that goes on here is you make statements that "relative lack of people tracking these" has any relevance to the TRUTH at all!
The Rennlist is not mandatory/central place of data points for owners to report in to so you can make your opinion/judgment calls. We have over 50 of these 981 and 19 of the 718 engines all over the world doing all kinds of things, so take the ACTUAL number of ACTUAL owners that contribute to these threads on Rennlist and its a very small cross section with pretty much EVERY person who has purchased one having Positive experiences on and off the track doing what THEY, the owners want to do with them.

Your contributions as an antagonist prove nothing other than you are exactly that, Most all the people who contribute to these threads are owners, friends of owners and real enthusiasts who enjoy the experiences either first hand or through the experiences of the others on here.

You, in my opinion make little if any positive contributions. Constantly trying to prove moot points, trying to find cracks to get your fingers into to pull the positive experiences apart.

You are definitely not invited to my next party!!!

Two things stood out to me from that Charlie Kay video: 1) Wow, that looks like a crazy fun track. 2) Wow, that car is bananas faster than stock. Congrats to OP and Charlie Kay, and to Rick for dialing this platform up to 11.

Waiting for my Spyder to arrive. I have a feeling it will eventually find its way east to get that 11 dial installed.

That is my point precisely. Why the anger/sensitivity? This isn't your personal GOOD NEWS ONLY forum.

If I was in the market for a 4.5L engine for my track/race car and wanted to find out long term reliability from people with similar use cases, I wouldn't know where to find them. They aren't active on RL. Would be nice to have more data.

Most all the people who contribute to these threads are owners, friends of owners and real enthusiasts who enjoy the experiences either first hand or through the experiences of the others on here.
That's... also in line with what I said? Where's the disagreement?

Well that's not for me to argue about I guess, but I didn't think I was below avg.

You are definitely not invited to my next party!!!
Probably just as well, the empirical data fetish makes me terribly boring.

FWIW .. my daily driver is a train, my Demand 4.5L will be used almost exclusively for track days .. will be posting more in future. I did not fork over the dough to go faster to the grocery store or 0-60 to on ramps … If I experience anything. . Will post .. honestly can’t wait ..track days are a different kind of zen that (for me) allow me to forget about pandemic, work and world conditions

I don't know much, even at my advanced age, but if I had two nuts I'd happily give one of them for a couple days at that track. No wonder the pros love it.
