Oh right, lol! My bad. For some reason thought the regular wheel was 5 lug and magnesium were CL

I opted out. Will be waiting for HRE R101 LW's. Close to the same weight, cost half and can be repaired. Add to that, that one still also has the OE wheels to sell or whatever. If you pay the hefty price of the Mg wheels from Porsche, not only are you paying the cash price, you also pay the lrice of the forged alu wheels they keep. Too expensive if you ask me. No thanks.

Also, if you spec the Mag wheels on your original order it increases the sales price of the car that can affect sales tax, luxury tax (in some markets), insurance, registration, and other fees...

Yep. Where I am it's like a $45k option with taxes etc. But was talking to my dealer about purchasing a set after taking delivery and then swapping them. That will cut all of those taxes out, but too much.

If you're buying these for the weight saving's it's the easiest thing in the world to talk yourself out of. I can't find the exact numbers but I believe they were 21lbs for fronts and 26lbs for the front aluminum rims. 5.25lbs saved per rim is :/. You can get aftermarket alloys that weigh the same or even less and they cost far far less.

Magnesium rims are nothing special. I still have some factory Nissan GTR rims that were magnesium I used for racing in chumpcar if that deflates the 'cool' factor of these rims. if it's rims for the street they're still so thick with material they're not very light. If they're for a dedicated race car then now we're talking for being light weight. I've had magnesium rims I could lift with one figure with a tire on it. I would ballpark those at 5-6lbs a rim.

The primary reason to buy the Mg wheels is to be able to tell people you bought Mg wheels 🤣

Or because the buyer wants to spec their car with the best available components.

If I was going to buy an RS I would be very torn because I think the standard wheels are so ugly.

Those wheels looked good on the Speedster concept, not so much on the GT4 RS

IMHO...I would (and I'm) skip them. In my market it's a $22.5k option due to the excise tax the car will pay when imported.
I will also skip the PCCBs but that's another story....remember I'm a track rat.
So basically I just dropped my MSRP around $30k....that $30K will go toward the full AP RadiCal brake system which will allow me to use 19" wheels. Stock you are limited to 20"
Then get a set of customs wheels in the correct offsets and width. Can go with Forgelines or if want Mag then custom Lightspeed.....add a set of Pirelli DHs and I'm still way under $30k with brand new OEM forged wheels, tires for street use and brakes tuck away if I ever decide to sell.
Plan B could be to see if Manthey also offers a set of Mag wheels for the 4RS....but those would be 20" for sure.
But that's me...I have a friend that needs EVERYTHING on his GT4RS......just to say I have the "best" and most $$$$$$.

Is there a way to make 18" work, like on the Clubsport? With AP I mean, or other 3rd party.

My guess is that you would have to convert to whatever the Clubsport cars use, PFC brake system, also check if anything in the suspension needs to be swapped....the PFC system is a bit more expensive than the AP and you have to take out the caliper for pad changes.
With AP at 394 mm front rotors you are stuck at 19"...I'm Ok with 19"....18" would be optimal.

I think you can do 18’s with PFC or Brembo Race calipers and 380mm rotors

Probably...pretty sure with the PFC it can be done as that's what's being used on the CS
