Just ordered my 2022 CGTS4!!
Hi all,
First time poster here after a few months of creeping for info. I finally lived out my dream today and ordered my 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I paid $5k ADM (they wanted $10k) but the delivery date is April 2022, so not too bad. I could have waited almost a year for one at MSRP, but there were no guarantees so I couldn't pass this one up.
The only slight gotcha is the dealer has an allocation for a Boxster GTS 4.0, not a Cayman.. but they said they have a dealer they do business with often that has a Cayman allocation and that it should be a non-issue. If there is an issue I will get my money back and start at square one again - could be worse. I'm supposed to hear back by Monday on whether or not the trade will work out - should have the commission number soon after that (not sure how long that process takes, but if someone knows please share).
I did quite a bit of lurking on people's posts looking at what build options were most enjoyed, which helped me determine my build immensely. My code is PNR3XXK7 if anyone is interested in checking it out.
Absolutely in love with this car already and I can't wait to take delivery.

Congrats! You're build looks really similar to what I want to get ordered for a GTS4. April will be here in no time, keep us posted on weather they are able to make the trade work.

Love the color combo, nice build and congrats.
….but IMO, the Guards Red stitching and dials will not go well with bordeaux…major color clash… unless that’s your intent. Also, colored dials are unbalanced in 718’s as only the two left instruments will be colored. For me, I’d drop both and add CF lighted door sills.

You have black/Bordeaux interior which comes with partial deviated stitching in Bordeaux. The you added steering wheel casing in leather with guards red deviated stitching. Your selection of deviated stitching is only for the steering wheel casing and it won’t match the rest of the deviated stitching.

After a lot of contemplating, I've decided to go with the Boxster instead of the Cayman. I'll love being able to have the top down and it's just such a great car overall. That being said, the build is V200 status and I've received my commission number. Estimated delivery is April 22, 2022! I absolutely can't wait.
This is likely the build I'll go with in the end - https://www.porsche.com/microsite/po...px?c=/PN1PA5W8
Was debating between the 14 way and the 18 way seats - think I'm going to go with the 18 way. I like the sportier look plus it will be nice to have a bit extra snugness when I want it.

Congratulatiobns!!! I do not think you will regret your choice in a drop top. These cars are a sensory experience...the open air just adds to it. Your spec looks good. I would add the CF door sills. I know that seems "stupid". But it is my one regret. The CF trim in the cars looks great. The OEM door sills don't. This car is to please YOU and only YOU!!! So you will see that illuminated CF door sill every time you get in the car and you will be like...."COOL"!!!! I love that you went with the black Porsche rear logo and the black spoiler. I would go with black door handles and leave the headlight washer nipples black(which I think you did) Good Luck and keep playing with that configurator!!!

love looking at people's builds, it's like buying a car all over again.
I would reconsider the smart phoen compartment. After I looked into it I decided there was no way I would spend money on that. I believe a number of people's SA's have told them to not get it.
