then again Ive never really GOT the thinking behind doing PTS then picking a color that looks like a Subaru etc ... waste of $'s IMO - even more so with a $200k premium

Crazy and insane. When a product is grossly overpriced, it loses its desirability immediately.

The thing with Hennessy is that you have to be one of their VIP clients in order to have a good shot at a GT3 or GT4 RS. New customers like myself have a hard time.

Again, that’s just a dealer throwing a stupid high price on a car so when they sell it for just kinda stupid, the buyer thinks they got a deal, Isringhausen lives by this model with their GT cars, as do many other dealers. Their asking prices are meaningless.

Weird strategy. You’d think it would be a turn off to anyone with some common sense.

Common sense is not so common. Go put a $100 bill on facebook marketplace for 10 dollars and you'll have some idiot asking if you'll take $5 and could you deliver it. Some people have no idea how to value something as a good or bad deal unless they negotiated on it.

I had an office girl who I got her a deal on a top model mazda3 my brother-in-law was dumping for 55% of what the cheapest base model for sale was and she was trying to negotiate on it lol.

Pre-covid new domestic vehicles pretty much have had that sales model for decades. New ram or F150, 70g! but since you're breathing we'll knock 20g off before you even open your mouth! and if you open your mouth another 5g is coming off.

In this market, they’re not looking for a buyer with common sense. They’re fishing for a fool, and they’re catching them, just not at that ask.

Fishing for a fool describes it well. If you're patient and spend some effort looking you can still buy stuff for almost normal prices. You just need to be vigilant and not doddle when a good deal comes up right now.

I turned a good profit selling my ram 3 weeks ago that I owned for a couple years to a dealership. Today I bought a replacement truck. Another Ram 2 years newer for 13.5g less than I sold my previous ram for (very similar spec but a 6 foot box this time). I could probably call up a dealership next week and sell it for a profit without any effort... then find another one in the next month or 2 that isn't a crazy price but I think i'd drive my wife crazy doing that.

We’ve been looking around and I’d agree, if your savvy, deals can be had. We ran across this A4, 1,000 miles and 2 yrs old. They wanted MSRP - $500. Ridiculous.

Then we got ahold of the CarFax and Monroney: alarm bells. Company vehicle used at their training/experience center.

Suddenly, now they want to deal. And we just aren’t interested in one of their company vehicles. Especially with a single service record over 2 years. And they had 2 on the lot with identical stories.

I suspect with the delivery delays and lack of inventory, there are many more former experience or company vehicles sitting as “fine low mileage examples “.

Do your homework folks.
