radar detector & dashcam mounts-is this possible?
Hi All!
Have a CGTS and am looking to add a radar detector and a dash cam (Escort Redline 360C most likely)....was planning on using a Blendmount so we can avoid suction cups on the windshield, but am having trouble finding a mount that will support both a radar detector and a dashcam (Blendmount will only support one or the other I'm told). Question to the gang- does anyone have a detector AND a dashcam, and if so have you found a mount that might support both? I really want to have both, and I would very much like to avoid the suction cups if I can....(no offense to you suction cup fans out there...just a personal preference).
Side note, there is a local dealer here in Seattle that makes CUSTOM invisible radar/laser installs and they are SWEET.....they even fabricate parts as to hide the equipment and make the car look stock, but the average cost is about $10k.........out of my price range for sure.

You could probably cobble something together from existing bike light/gopro or ball joing mounts from amazon...it would all depend on which dash cam and how you want them mounted (which on top for instance). Simplest would be either suction, or adhesive mount for dashcam, directly to bottom of radar detector itself. Radar detector would use native mount.

You could get an Escort dash cam which mounts to the detector and then use just the one blendmount. https://www.escortradar.com/collections/dash-cams Otherwise I would just mount the cam to the windshield and probably use an adhesive mount.

I have the Blendmount for the detector and am using the double-sided adhesive that comes with the BlackVue for that. With the tape you can get the dashcam up higher on the windshield out of your line of sight better. It hides behind the mirror from my driving point of view. (At least it was that way in my 911 and the plan for the GT4).
I also have the Redline 360c and am currently running it in my truck to get it to learn all of the nearby false alarms before I put it in the car next month. It is the best of many detectors I've had.

You can do it. I think the existing screw works but if not just get a slightly longer one from the hardware store. Or substitute one from the suction mount.
I’ve used these in this configuration on my 911 before the GT4. No brainer to move it to the GT4.
M1 mounted to Blendmount with a Mirror Tap for power.

the shop near Seattle that specializes in high end custom installs is 'Systems Unlimited' in Bellevue (no affiliation). Check out their Facebook page for pics of some of their work...I stopped in to inquire about radar detectors and dash cams but they do high end audio too...$$$$$$$$$$
