I did a half break in lol… Tried to be a good Porsche owner up to about 1k miles.
Still not driving it super hard but definitely spirited.
On the question of consumption and break in, I did a sort of AP-style break-in and worked my way up incrementally, staying below 4k for about 500 miles then slowly walking it up over time until I hit redline the first time at about 1200 miles. (I still didn't do a launch until past 2k miles - I just had to try one!) I checked the oil level at about 2k miles and had about 20% of the min/max range remaining on the indicator. I added about 7/10ths of a quart which took me up to about 80% to full, the level which is supposed to be optimal. I'm now above 3.2k miles and the consumption has slowed significantly.

It's a good idea to get a Porsche oil-pouch and keep a quart in one of the storage bins, it fits in the small ones next to the engine cover.

I forgot to add: Given the amount of oil the car holds, I'm pretty certain it won't be a problem to add a half quart of A40 to tide you over. I'd think that is safer than staying below min or at the warning line for min.
