I want to do this for a bike rack as well, track tire trailer will also help future proof the car. I like this.

jwr9152, thanks for that advice! Do you recall where you accessed the wire for the third brake light? I looked around in my rear fender areas and didn't see any wires matching the brown/violet color coding I think I'm looking for.

It's been a while, but you have to take the left side storage bin out and and the third brake light wire is run by the speaker. This is the best picture I could find.

Super helpful! Thanks for the picture. I hoped using a Tekonsha ZCI Modulite signal system would be easier than tapping into the wires. When I did this on my previous 996, I just tapped onto the tail light wiring. I guess I need to decide whether I'm going to pull and reinstall the interior panels, or just tap onto the wires with my old Curt harness,or pull the interior panels to make the Tekonsha Modulite work. Hmmmm. Really appreciate your help on this. Last year with my 996, I got a Leroy Tire Trailer, and loved it. Over the winter I found my Cayman S to be my new DE toy. Trying to solve the wiring puzzle before the first DE. Love the color of your GT4!

No problem. Glad it helped. As you can see it was a bit of a pain to make it work, but all good now. Those Leroy trailers are very nice.

Can't recall the Dude's name at Guru but he was great to work with!
