I don't understand the point about the RS and hard suspension.

From my point RS means radical and ultimate >< harder. i.e. suspension used by Manthey on the nordschleife or the 911 GT3 RS used in rally (especially in Europe).

Regarding the wing, I grow up in the right seat of a 964 RS ... ... so ...the wing was pretty simple and similar to Carrera style.

I really appreciate the proposition of Porsche : GT4 RS totally dedicated to the track with no compromise - SPYDER RS seems to a compromise Road and Track ... what else for 2 seater without a roof ?

Where the RS SPYDER should be good at ? What do I want to go to with a Spyder RS ?

- nurburbring ? for sure it seems to
- a long trip between spa and the nordschleife on the country roads
- Alps & Vercors
- Corsica
- Mallorca

Maybe I'm wrong but a 2-3 trackdays a year combined with great roadtrips around Europe ...

And franckly speaking, the Spyder RS will go below 2,40 at SPA at 90% of the potential and that will be perfect to take 100% pleasure. At 100% of the potential I take a car with a roll cage and harness + Hans

Cup means-> Track
RS means-> Cars&Coffee+Touring

Prove is that you dont see an RS on track if not (sometime....) in their first 1k miles, before selling them, indeed for an hefty adm....

I am 100% with you, brother. I'm so looking forward to turning the inginition key and hearing the bark of THAT engine. It will be epic. Then hitting the local hills and canyons. I'm not big into tracks and usually enjoy the drive through the mountains out to the local track (Area 27) and back more than the actual track.

Anyways, in the meantime we sit and dream and wait and share our thoughts on this imaginary car.

Regarding the roof down while on a track, locally it is permitted, The Ridge said they were OK with it as long as the roll over protection was fixed/permanent.

But Area 27 has yet to respond... I will have to follow-up with them.

I'm still interested in this car, and it looks hot in the pics below, but I think not offering it in manual is a fail, and possibly a dealbreaker for me.

I asked my cleaning lady about the 124mph top limit and her first language isn't English so it was a bit hard to decode what she said but something along the lines of when you go past 124mph the car will give you a warning on the dash if the top is up. She's taken it above that with the top up and it didn't feel too bad just really windy. Said obviously do it at your own risk lol.

I wonder if simple steps could be taken to shore it up (temporarily, for track work).

Makes sense, a warning ala 'proceed at your own risk'.. The tracks I frequent and given the number of times and duration above 200 kp/h would be so brief, probably not a determining factor for me.

AP said it's ok but uncomfortable to go above 200 km/h. He said no worry about that.
(source : one of his instagram post)

According to me and the experience of the 987, no worry at all with that. It will be noisy but no problem ;-)

Not so sure about this vanadium grey metallic. It does look very different in the videos. I dont find this matte green aspect I really like on the rendering of Porsche configurator .

I think Vanadium is a much more exciting color than Artic Gray that we got on the 4RS. Although I wish the RS Spyder had Python or something else colorful than Shark/Ruby.
