Most tracks want you to have a top. Many allow a convertible but it has to pass the “broom test”…I think they call it. If you can put a broom stick from the roll hoop to the windshield header without it touching your head. Based on these pics, it looks close.

Lower the seat down and have a small person tech the car…

love the Dove tail
The wheels are too bland but i can live with it.
The top is so bad its good. (As bad or worse then my 1994 speedster).
Totally useless car which is exactly what i want!
This is a motorists car.

I was wondering the same thing about fully "sealing" the cabin since the videos that have been released so far haven't shown that extra part. I hope someone goes into detail about it on an upcoming video as I'm curious.
Btw, regarding the downforce on the Spyder, if memory serves me correctly, I recall posting the details many moons ago where the regular Boxster variant has lift front and rear. The Spyder has less lift in front and actual downforce on the rear of like 7lbs or something very minimal. Interesting to hear AP say that the Spyder RS is neutral. I take neutral to mean no lift front or rear and no downforce front or rear. If that is the case, weird to go from a little downforce in the rear to now zero.

I’d buy it for the top alone! The GT3 4.0 is a bonus!

Maybe it's just my impression but looks like they're trying to discourage 718 RS orders with market launches in these awful greys.
Plus:
Minus:
Plus:
- Ducktail (fine counterpart to 4RS wing)
- Engine Music now directly into your ears (the downside is that it's easily addictive)
Minus:
- Cowbells (better than I expected though)
- Maybe a little bit clunky appearence ( but I'm confident that in lighter colors will be more graceful)

Sounds like it is better balanced now.

I think having more downforce on the rear is better for safety/stability. Just looking at the GT3 and GT3 RS, the rear downforce numbers are much more than the front. I assume that's the same with the GT4 and GT4 RS and that's how it was with the Spyder.
I'm thinking when more details are released, we'll see maybe a little more downforce on the rear with the large ducktail and zero lift/downforce on the front end.
