Still, 4RS is totally another car as a concept, if they're really going to release SRS with MT that move will drive crazy a lot of people for sure.
And I don't agree that's just a pure money move.

In my case, after the 4RS I've been offered a spot for SRS, but to be honest a manual Spyder would still have been my first choice (which is now impossible) and frankly that would now close the deal. A car like that in manual is forever

He’s not saying it’s a move purely to take money, but a move that WILL have people very willing to part with their money. I agree.

I'm waiting for some tuner to shove a GT3 engine and manual transmission into a Spyder. It's only a matter of time.

and allows manual trans, and avoids the hideous fender louvers and air intakes which ruin the beauty of the Spyder

True, but it doesn’t have an 8 year production history, factory warranty and a motorsport pedigree. I think that 4.5 is a cool option, but that GT3 engine is already a legend.

@cooler2442 I am not asking for MORE information, but I am a little confused by what you said above. Your cleaning lady actually SAW a spyder rs in Weissach with a manual transmission, or saw an SRS and only heard there would be (might be?) a manual option?

Maybe they were thinking it would take longer to get it ready for the 718R, but got one sorted, and decided "why not?" offer it in the SRS.

Question to the general public: Is the 718R now more than just a shadowy rumor? And if so, is there both a cayman and boxster variant? These I assume will be, as described, numbered unicorns.

My preference is for an SRS. However if I don't get an SRS I will probably be going this route.

Hello everyone.
This morning my dealer confirmed presentation in April (so 17th week of the year as I wrote before should be correct) and first deliveries (only two sure allocations pending) end of July.
No internal rumour of MT at all.
Confirmed I am first on the list.
Very excited!

Presume you meant "No internal rumour of [manual] at all"?

That timing is odd. One month of 2023 production before the factory shut down in August and model year changeover in late August/Early September?
