After almost 2 years of waiting after trading in my Gulf Blue 718 Cayman S, my BRG Spyder finally arrived last week through Downtown Porsche. Thanks to Stuart at DFC for all the updates and guidance with his extensive knowledge of builds and PTS. He had PPF and ceramic applied before pickup, as well as installing clear side markers. What I didn't realize is that the ceramic can also go on the fabric top which is great. I also tried to mount the Carbonio drill-less front license plate holder but I stupidly had it done on top of the PPF. It was on the floor the next day when the PPF peeled away from the weight of the mount so I reapplied it with new 3M adhesive after cutting away the PPF at the contact point. This ended up on the floor again, failing at the interface between the old sticker which I had peeled away and the new. I just received a brand new mount from Carbonio so should be fine now that I can attach it properly (3rd time's the charm?).
I also had a scary "Refill coolant - immediately stop driving" warning at the end of the first day of driving. Stuart as well as the DFC Service Manager, Khalil, both were amazingly helpful even so late in the evening. Apparently some of the GT cars need to burp air bubbles out of the coolant (?), and even a measuring cup's amount of decrease in the level triggers this alarm. After pouring in a cup of reverse osmosis water, all was well and haven't seen the error again. Otherwise, other than noticing the 1-2 grind issue mentioned in another thread here, it drives beautifully. Operating the top takes a few cracks at it to get smooth, but pretty easy and intuitive overall. Although I've been told a break-in isn't necessary, still not going crazy but hope to do some high revving driving soon!
Congrats on the build, looks amazing. I'm also Toronto based and waiting on my Spyder. Who supplied your PPF and ceramic, what did it cost?
My brother actually manages the shop that Downtown Porsche outsources to (and they charge you a markup in the process). PM me and I can put you in touch directly with their company. They also do all the cars from Grand Touring downtown. Top quality work.

Such a handsome color! More pics please! Maybe some interior images and some of car in shade? So, why did this process take 2 yrs? Seems like an eternity!
Thanks guys. It took so long mainly due to me asking for a delayed allocation, but also to some degree waiting for a possible PTS slot.
PPF for the front and full-body ceramic including rims and calipers was $3500 through the dealership. Here's a couple more pics in the shade from the back and also of the interior. Taking a road trip this weekend so will try to take some more!

Very cool Car indeed! Break in is necessary unfortunately. There is a whole tread on break in: https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-...s-for-gt4.html
. I’m planning to follow the abbreviated AP His explanation should give:
Got the winters on matte bronze rims for a different look. Looks better than the stock satin platinum?
Congrats on the BRG Spyder, she looks awesome! The bronze wheels do look good, not better just different than the Platinum Satin IMHO... what wheel is that?
