Biggest difference between Manual and PDK? You can't push in the clutch and blip the throttle whenever you want in a PDK. For some, this is a very valuable trait!

In all seriousness to the OP, I suggest driving an MT. If it's for you, you'll know within 5 minutes. If you can't find a Porsche MT, a Miata MT will be fine, and they are easier to find on lots for a test drive.
I first started thinking about a Porsche 5 years ago. Almost bought a 981 GTS PDK. Ended up buying a Miata with a manual. For me, it's just more engaging. It makes driving the car feel more 'out of the ordinary from our daily drivers). At the time, I was bothered by the fact that the MT in a 981 was slower (and how could I pay so much for a car that wasn't in it's fastest option), but now I realize that even in a Miata you are at the speed limit all too soon.
It's a personal choice, nothing wrong with the PDK and I would choose it if I planned to track much. But experience it yourself to decide.

I *really* *really* *really* cannot believe that there is yet another F****** thread on RL regarding MT vs. PDK.
its simple, pick the version you like the best: PDK is faster and heavier, MT is lighter and slower, but you get an extra pedal included at no extra charge, and your left foot gets a job...

now which is better, LWBS + 6MT & PCCB, or 2-way, PDK & steel?
let's gets serious...
front, vs mid, vs read engine cars?

This must be something new, as I think I tried that in my 981, and my 2019 Macan, and it didn't work. Thoughts?

For Chrissakes, these PDK/manual threads are ****ing moronic. Can the mods please write a software script that sends any new thread with PDK and Manual in the title straight to the trash?!!!
They’re both great transmissions!!!

Once we settle which transmission is better once and for all, can we please discuss the best oil and tires?

But when you pump them up, they become round again, so does that mean round is better? I'm so confused!!!

In a 981 a quick flick of both paddles puts it, and keeps it in neutral. In the 718 pulling both paddles works like pushing in a clutch but only while you're holding them in.
