Holy Cow - 8 weeks for some film and a coating? Was that by design or is that just an 'is what it is' situation? My (GREATLY) preferred detailer happened to be relocating his whole shop over the week that my car eventually arrived. I'd want him to do the work on my car every time if I could - and the 718 is no exception. With his move in the works when I got shipping updates from Porsche, I unhappily accepted the reality that the car may not be done with ppf until mid-December or so - car got to him on 11/15. So, he had a small backlog to catch up on from his loss of about a full week to move; I'll be picking up my car, weather cooperating, this coming weekend. He'll have had the car for just over 2.5 weeks, with a move to facilitate and a backlog to address. 8 weeks? Jeez, you're more patient than I am for sure, and I'm known for having a good deal of it. Being in the northeast I'm not sure if it made this chapter easier or harder. I resigned myself to having salt on the roads and sub-35 temps by the time the car was drivable, and somehow we've been blessed with 65 degree temps here for most of the past 3 weeks/ it's made my patience waver, no doubt. IIRC, you're in SoCal - I give you kudos, I would have cracked waiting for 2 months with the type of weather you get and no car (much less a drop top) to enjoy. I guess you have the whole year to enjoy it though, so a 'winter' loss of 8 weeks is not materially different to you than any other time of year.
Anyway, I'm rambling - but 8 weeks is insanity to wait for some film and a coating. Not that it would change my opinion, but please tell me with that turnaround that the entire car is ppf'd, not just the leading edges/high impact areas?
