Did anyone ever determine the DeMan price for the 4.5? I thought I heard someone spitball +$50k. If true, that won't be a lot cheaper than a GT3.

I heard the same thing but unconfirmed. I was assuming $50k when I said it would be a cheaper option than a GT3.

450 is a big IF for the incoming 4RS. Porsche ain't handling out bhp like it's free candy.

Even if it's 450, it's not the same engine from the 992 GT3 (effectively 991 3RS / Speedster engine).

The average gt3 driver (or any high performance car for that matter) did not buy it to go to the track and would get passed by a Miata if they ever took it to a race track.

There was some sorta charity supercar (and misc other $ performance cars) track event in my city a couple weeks ago. The organizers made the mistake of doing the photo ops at the track the on a previous day so everyone could get good 'action' shots of their car at a race track by doing 40kph past the cameras and parking them in spots, and so they could have more track time on the track day. Since they already got their proof of being a hardcore track rat to put in a frame for their office guess how many showed up to actually drive the track day...

I give the GT4 RS zero chance of outgunning the GT3. At best it will be the same engine with another 200RPM added to the redline.

The GT4 engine is great, but the GT3 engine is in another league.

I used to go to the occasional "super car" day at the track. Man, did they hate me passing them in my boxster! lol And then the usual ensuing OFF after laps of having me in their mirrors (except the straights of course). Lambo v12 drivers were the worst / best.

GT3 - more power.
GT4RS - more fun.

Both - near unobtanium.
