A lot of insurance companies, including mine (GEICO) don't cover glass anymore.

I got quote on mine a month ago, it was $1150 for the Window, plus some rubber fitting and install, about $1500 for my GT4.

Over the years, I’ve had probably 6 windshields replaced on various cars (never a Porsche - knock wood). Never paid a penny out of pocket. I’ve also had so many deer “encounters” that I probably hold a record, then there was the lightning strike to our chimney that cost>$25k to repair. All those were on Statefarm. Never had a rate increase, and all our vehicles are still in their lowest risk pool. Oh! And speeding tickets are irrelevant! They only care about claims. I love my agent!

And a suicidal raccoon took out the front of a BMW once that cost >$4500. Again, $0 OOP and no rate increase. And the exploding cow…ate all the apples off our tree and it’s stomach exploded. State Farm bought the farmer a new cow and it cost me nothing (other than feeling bad for the cow).

Totally agree.... I would be more concerned with the installation, fit and finish of a replacement windshield... rather than the cost.
