Yes, this is a Porsche forum and clearly you don’t know “what’s not to like” about that car - good for you. I don’t dislike American cars, I own one. I dislike faux muscle cars that look (and are) heavy, bloated, clumsy and over designed all at the same time screaming “I’m trying too hard” but that’s just me.

Thats because you love brands and not value actual car. Label anything porsche and you will love it with 2x price and label the same American you will not like it. Thats fine its personal choice , if you are happy that what it matters. Dont generalize. Having said that i have driven 718 GT4 and GTS couple of times, great cars but not worth the price they sell for.
Enjoy your purchase!

I was simply pointing out your boorish behavior. Couple months back you dropped your allocation and moved on to Chevy.
Great, don't think anyone has a problem with that.
Just curious why you keep posting in the waiting room about your Camaro purchase.
By all means carry on...

There is no storage in this car , its 30K cheaper than my GTS on road and looks much more aggressive and drives damn good and fast. I know this is a porsche forum but cant justify the ridiculous prices of porsche's when we have cars like these in the market. I know people keep saying they dont like american cars , i dont know what not to like in these cars. It is heavier than porsche's but doesnt feel the weight and the supercharger is awesome
For example, a 2016 Camero 2SS with MSRP of $45.5k is currently worth around $32k according to the market (filtered only to private sellers so it would match the Porsche)
On the other hand, a 2016 718 Cayman GTS with MSRP of around $90k is currently worth around $75k (seller listing it for 80 but I think it is unrealistic)
So yes, the Porsche was double the price, but it wasn't actually double the cost.

Honestly? The price of the Porsches (all 718 4.0) is outrageous when things like GT350R exist, so I can completely relate to someone buying something like the Camero.
Personally I just don't like the American cars, I honestly don't know why. Maybe it's their size, or weight, or build quality, or visibility - something there just doesn't click for me.

You need to calculate deprecation and not purchase value.

I will not pay this price even dealer retail " 2016 718 Cayman GTS with MSRP of around $90k is currently worth around $75k" , that's a 7 yr old car, that's not worth more than 60-65K even in this market. Plus its a 4 cylinder. All cars are holding their value very well in this market , i sold my corvette GS for only 7K less than what my bought 2 1/2 yrs back and the car is 5 yrs old with 20k miles.

A 2016 GTS is very much a flat-six not a four cylinder.

I just can't get there with American cars and I've tried over the years. But I know exactly why they don't appeal to me and it's not a singular reason. It's a confluence of brand equity, cost, size, weight, styling, build quality, and value. American performance cars simply are not for me and that's ok. This is just a reminder that not everything is for everyone.

I'm not going to bag on the ZL1.... GM (Ford too) has really, really upped their quality game. They all drive and feel really, really nice. Hold up well longterm. And continue to shine where they have for a long time: value for the dollar.
What turns me off?
It's the other owners.
